The Thief's Alchemical Process
Failure does not mean an ending...especially for an alchemist who is also a thief

There it rests: the only grimoire of its time, The Monad, displaying atop a bookstand, intricately decorated with carved, glowing alchemical runes. It was by far the least eye-catching object within the Great Alchemist, Fion’s, study; done purposefully to distract the untrained eye from its true value. Lioria, however, knew better.
Lioria quietly prances to the bookstand, sweeping The Monad up like a newborn. With a snap of her fingers, she vanishes from Fion’s study. It did not take long for The Monad’s disappearance to go unnoticed. When Lioria arrives home, she found Fion waiting for her, with an all-knowing look upon his face.
“Now, Lioria, this is the third time this week,” Fion shakes his head condescendingly.
Lioria clutches The Monad to her chest protectively and mumbles, “One day you really won’t catch me, I swear it!”
Fion snaps his fingers, and The Monad flies from Lioria’s arms and into its owner’s hands.
“How I ever could have a kleptomaniac as my top student will always be beyond my comprehension….” Fion chuckles to himself, “best of luck next time!” And with a wink, he disappears.
Lioria, disappointed - yet enthusiastic - begins to strategically plan tomorrow’s attempt.
