Standing by the theater, the brutal sun beat on me as I passed out colored pieces of paper for the upcoming play.
They said I was a hired actor. Instead, I was an understudy. So, the casting crew hadn't totally lied to me.
Too bad nobody told me beforehand when I auditioned months ago.
At least I'd been paid upfront because doing anything on the street corner was uncomfortable.
People were going about their day, and I was an annoying invader of their space and time.
Like a mosquito.
I shook my head, praying for this shift to end soon.
