The Tale of Prince Anar and the Demon Jaldur
The Victory of Light Over Darkness

Once upon a time, in an ancient era, joy reigned supreme in the lush valleys of the earth. There was a beautiful kingdom named Nooristan. The prince of that kingdom, Anar Shahzad, was a brave and kind-hearted person. His courage and honesty had earned him a special place in the hearts of the people. He always helped the weak and found happiness in the joy of others. One day, black clouds covered the sky as if nature had suddenly drawn a dark curtain. The earth trembled. Flashes of lightning sent a wave of fear in every direction. At that moment, a terrifying demon named Jaldur emerged from the darkness of the forest. Flames erupted from his eyes, and his roar shook the mountains. In a thunderous voice, he announced, "If there is any brave soul, let him come to my mountain tomorrow morning and face me. Otherwise, I will burn your settlement down." This threat spread panic and fear throughout the kingdom. The king, who was elderly and weak, remained silent. The soldiers shivered with fear. But Prince Anar summoned his courage and said, "I will face the demon to save my kingdom." His mother, who always protected him, wept and said, "Son, remember, the demon is certainly powerful, but the strength of wisdom and goodness is greater than his." Prince Anar comforted his mother. He drew his sword, mounted his horse, and set off towards the forest in the dead silence of the night. On the way, an elderly Fakir (ascetic) appeared before him. He told Prince Anar, "The demon fears the fear in a man's heart. If you are afraid, you will lose. Take this pomegranate seed. When the time comes, throw it on the ground." Prince Anar thanked the Fakir and moved on. Reaching the foot of the mountain, he challenged the demon Jaldur. The demon chuckled and said, "Human, how dare you!" Then a fierce battle began between the two. The demon rained fire and stones, but Prince Anar did not lose heart. Suddenly, the demon threw a net and captured the prince. In that moment, Prince Anar immediately threw the pomegranate seed given by the Fakir onto the ground. A light burst forth from the earth, and a beautiful tree grew up, its fragrance filling the air. The demon was startled, and the light began to turn his body into stone. He tried to run, but in moments, he was transformed into a stone statue. The darkness lifted. The sky turned blue, and a sweet fragrance spread in the air. Prince Anar, wounded but satisfied, returned to the palace. The king embraced him and said, "My son, you saved us with both courage and wisdom." A wave of happiness swept through all of Nooristan. People said to each other, "Fear magnifies the darkness, but faith and goodness create light." At night, when Prince Anar looked up at the sky from his window, he felt as if the Fakir was smiling at him in the form of a shining star. This story teaches us that a true hero is one who remains steadfast on the path of goodness despite fear, because power is temporary, but faith and wisdom always triumph.
