Jeremiah later woke up in some woods near St. Louis still injured from the fight with John, but it wasn’t too serious. He decided that instead of trying to explain to his parents how he got so injured to camp for the night. He gathered wood for his campfire and lit it using Fire Strike. He sat down on a log he found nearby and started thinking aloud.

“Man, that was one tough battle, but I survived. So, I’ll get him as soon as my wounds heal. I bet no one in my 1st grade class (he was held back once in kindergarten for poor social skills) could do that,” bragged Jeremiah.

Suddenly, he heard something in the bushes. He looked and saw a five-year-old with blond hair carrying some guy and more importantly, pizza. Jeremiah checked his Emergency Watch to find out the identity of the guy the five-year-old was carrying while eyeballing his pizza at the same time. His name was Bob the Bandit. He was wanted for many crimes. He had the power of super strength.

“If being beaten by a seven-year-old is embarrassing, being beaten by a five-year-old must be plain humiliating. However, this Bob the Bandit does have quite a record for escaping from jail. I better take him into Superhero custody, just in case. Plus, the Superhero Rulebook does state that we can lock up villains instead of putting them in a regular prison if they got a bad enough reputation. Plus, he won’t mind if I steal that pizza,” stated Jeremiah thinking more with his stomach than his head.

Jeremiah jumped out of the bushes, grabbed Bob, ate the pizza, and started running. The five-year-old was caught by surprise. After he got over it, he barked, “Hey, get back here with my captive and you owe me a pizza!” He started pursuing him. Jeremiah called Superhero HQ 5.

“Hello, this is Superhero HQ 5. How may I be of service?” asked the operator.

“I need a prison transport ship, right away. I got Bob the Bandit on my back, who is unconscious, and I’m being chased by some guy who’s got ice ninja stars?” described Jeremiah while the other guy got out a PDA and made some ice shurikens.

The other guy threw the ice shurikens at Jeremiah. They missed.

“I’ll send one right away,” said the operator.

“Thanks,” said Jeremiah while he was narrowly avoiding another ice shuriken.

The other guy got out his PDA again, selected something on it, and an ice gun appeared in his hand. He started shooting bullets made of ice. Jeremiah used Fire Strike on the ice bullets, which caused the bullets to melt.

Jeremiah said, “Oops.”

The other guy said astonished, “He has fire powers?”

The prison transport ship just arrived. Jeremiah dropped off the load.

“Here you go. However, some guy is following me. So, I’ll distract him while you leave,” explained Jeremiah.

“Roger that,” said the captain.

Jeremiah went up to the five-year-old and piped, “I bet you can’t catch me.” He jumped into a tree and stuck his tongue out at him. The other guy got really angry and restarted pursuit. The prison transport ship started lift-off. The other guy made an ice sniper rifle and tried shooting him. Jeremiah used Fire Strike in an uppercut fashion. Once again, the bullets was sliced in half and melted. The prison transport ship left. The other guy heard its thrusters activate and caught a brief glimpse of it before it went out of sight. Specifically, the logo.

I know I’ve seen that logo, before,” recalled the other guy.

Jeremiah kicked him while he was contemplating his thoughts. He hit a tree. Jeremiah hopped into a branch of another nearby tree.

“Well, my task is complete. Trust me when I say this Bob the Bandit guy is in better hands,” stated Jeremiah.

“I don’t care as long as I get my bounty,” said the other guy.

“You mean I have to pay?” blurted Jeremiah.

“Yes,” answered the other guy.

“But, I’m broke,” whined Jeremiah.

“Say what?” barked the other guy as he got out his PDA.

He selected ice gun on it. An ice gun appeared in his hand. He started shooting it. Jeremiah’s dodging made him look like he was dancing like a goofball. He used Fire Strike to melt the ice bullets and the ice gun. Right after he did that, he realized that the other guy knew he had powers.

“Whoops. Umm…what do I do now? Gotta think! Gotta think! Gotta think! I got it!” panicked Jeremiah.

He started looking for his memory eraser while saying, “Where is it?” repeatedly. Jeremiah finally found it. He got it out.

“What is that thing?” inquired the other guy.

“A memory eraser. With a few cranks of this baby, you won’t remember any of this,” explained Jeremiah.

He started winding it up. It fired a beam. The other kid tried dodging it, but he failed. Jeremiah only wound it up so only a few minutes of his memory would be erased. Afterwards, he got out of sight during the 10-second interval between the memory erasing and the person who got their memory erased comes back to his/her senses. The other guy asked dazed, “What happened?” He noticed that Bob the Bandit was gone.

“Where did he go? I got to find him and quickly. I can’t let my bounty slip from my fingers.”

He left. Jeremiah said, “Phew. That was a close one. Who was that guy, anyway?”

Something fell in Jeremiah’s face. He checked it and saw a picture of the other guy. It said:

Trey’s To-Do List:

1. Become a Bounty Hunter.

2. Get lunch.

3. Capture Bob the Bandit and get his bounty.

4. Get Dinner.

5. Go to bed.

“This is just a to-do list. Maybe I’m reading the wrong side. At least, it told me his name.”

He flipped it over. It said:

Trey Ellison

Bounty Hunter

Good for any of your bounty hunter needs.

Rank: Beginner

“Well, that explained a lot more than the to-do list did. However, why does he have the same last name as me? Oh wait, there’s more.”

The rest of it said:

Also looking for missing cousin: Jeremiah Ellison. If you have details about his whereabouts, contact (insert phone number here). I still want the money, though.

“I go do a mission for one day and they call the police or something like that? I better make a call.”

He called Sector 17. Computer answered it.

“Jeremiah, why are you calling this late at night? I was in sleep mode,” complained Computer.

“I didn’t know computers had to sleep. I thought sleep mode was only a power conservation feature,” stated Jeremiah.

“We’re not regular computers, you know. We got all the basic necessities of humans. However, for the most part, we work and act like computers,” explained a tired Computer.

“Oh. Well, anyway, I’m going to need a stand-in while I do these missions. Think you can make a robot dummy of me to fill-in for me when I have to go on a mission?” asked Jeremiah.

“Me, Assistant, and Program will get to work on it in the morning. If you excuse me, I’m going back into sleep mode,” said a sleepy Computer.

He hung up. Jeremiah said, “He has the right idea. I better get some sleep, too.” Jeremiah went back to the camp to get some sleep.

When Robot Boy woke up in the morning, he decides to try his luck yet again and returns to the St. Louis Arch on his Changing Rocket. He went inside John’s secret hideout only to find out that John was gone. However, he left a present for him. A bomb that activated right when he got in with only a 30 second delay timer. He quickly piloted his Changing Rocket out of there. He made it out of range with 5 seconds to spare. The explosion destroyed part of the Arch, thus causing it to start collapsing. People started panicking. Robot Boy put the Changing Rocket on autopilot and jumped out of it. He levitated in front of the falling Arch. Next, he used Earth Kick on it. It went back in place. He activated his Emergency Watch and it shot a beam that kept the Arch in place. Then, he called Superhero HQ 5.

“Hello, this is Superhero HQ 5. How may I be of service?” asked the operator.

“I need backup. The St. Louis Arch is falling, and I don’t know how long my tractor beam can hold it,” explained Robot Boy.

“We know. We already dispatched Sector 29 to help with the situation. They should be there soon,” said the operator.

“Ok,” said Robot Boy as he hung up.

A ship with the Superhero logo appeared. It flew above the Arch and dropped a claw to hold it steady. Robot Boy deactivated his Emergency Watch. Four people came out of the ship with tools to repair the Arch. Robot Boy went up to them and asked if he could help in any way. They gave him some tools, explained what to do, and let him help them. Eventually, the St. Louis Arch was repaired. The claw let go of the Arch. After a few compliments here and there, the four people went back on their ship and left. Robot Boy jumped off the Arch and his Changing Rocket caught him. He switched the controls to manual, flew around the Arch, and landed.

“Hard to believe what happened here. This is Mary Everstein reporting live from St. Louis. Half an hour ago, the famous St. Louis Arch was collapsing due to some unknown explosion that came out of nowhere. Our only hope was a superpowered little kid and his subordinates who flew in on what looked a spaceship. In all of my years of reporting, I have never seen anything like this. I’m going to see if I can interview him,” reported Mary Everstein, a Channel 3 news reporter.

Robot Boy jumped out of his Changing Rocket when Mary Everstein came up to him.

“Hello. My name is Mary Everstein, a news reporter for Channel 3. What is your name?” inquired Mary.

Robot Boy thought, “This is an excellent opportunity. I could get a message to John.”

“My name is Robot Boy. Nice to meet you,” greeted Robot Boy.

“So, can you tell us why the Arch was collapsing?” questioned Mary.

“Sorry, that’s classified information.”

“Since when is a seven-year-old trusted with classified information?” asked Mary.

“The same time one got superpowers,” said Robot Boy.

“Good point. Do you have any comments on what happened?” inquired Mary.

“No comments. However, I have a message for somebody I call Fireball John. John, meet me at the clearing near Tamaroa, IL. at 3:00 p.m. and fight me. That is all,” stated Robot Boy.

He got on his Changing Rocket and left St. Louis.

3:02 p.m.

Robot Boy and John are at the clearing. The current time is 3:02 p.m. Both of them arrived at three sharp.

“I’m surprised you came at all. I thought you would chicken out,” said Robot Boy.

“You know way too much for your own good. Plus, you called me out. So, I had to come,” stated John.

“I have to fight you to destroy that Evil Orb,” commented Robot Boy.

“Well, I have to destroy you and your Orb,” continued John.

“In other words, we both got terms. In that case, let’s get started,” asserted Robot Boy.

“Agreed.”

Jeremiah used Fire Strike. John jumped to dodge while lunging forward for a Fire Punch. Fire Punch is a power where one’s hand gets engulfed in flames allowing you to punch your opponents with incredible power. It may also leave a burn. Plus, it’s handy in case your hand is frozen. It could instantly melt the ice off your hand. Robot Boy dodged by jumping backward. He used Earth Kick. It hit causing John to get knocked back a bit. John used Fire Tower. Fire Tower is where a huge wall of flames springs out of a designated area. Critical Hit! Robot Boy was knocked to the ground. He got up and jumped to gain some height for levitation. He used Fire Strike. John jumped straight up and grabbed Robot Boy by the leg. He climbed up him, put his hand to his face, and used Lava Grip. Lava Grip is a power that heats up your hand to about the heat of lava. It’s good for close range combat. Plus, you can’t put it out like Fire Punch. RB’s face was being burned. He used Earth Kick in a sad attempt to break free. There was no effect. He used Transform since he wouldn’t be able to break free. A tornado appeared around them. It shrank so only Robot Boy could fit in it. The tornado pushed John aside. He crashed into the ground. Robot Boy turned into Superhero Smiley Face.

“What the heck just happened?” bellowed John.

“Simple. We’re a two-in-one set. You can call me Superhero Smiley Face,” answered Superhero Smiley Face.

“What’s the difference?” asked John.

“The difference is that I’m a lot better than Robot Boy. Plus, I have over 1,000,010 earth years of experience,” answered SSF.

“Say, what, now?” implored John.

“You heard me,” replied Superhero Smiley Face.

He quickly levitated towards John. As he closed in, he started preparing an Earth Kick. He kicked him in the face. John lost his balance and fell down.

He got up and he bellowed, “I’m not done yet.”

He used Ring of Fire.

“That trick may work on Robot Boy. However, I can assure you it won’t work on me,” guaranteed SSF.

SSF dodged right before the fireball hit. He quickly levitated behind John while the fireball rebounded and followed. John didn’t have time to react. The fireball hit him knocking him down to the ground.

SSF turned back into Robot Boy. The orb took over and channeled his energy into John’s body. The energy started cracking the Evil Orb. After a minute, the Evil Orb was destroyed. This released all of its negative energy. It took the shape of a dragon, which rushed out of his body making the exact cry that a real dragon would make right before it disappeared.

“What was that?” implored Robot Boy.

SSF appeared as a transparent figure and replied, “That is the soul of the Evil Orb. Each Orb has its own personality. In an Evil Orb, its personality is stored in its negative energy. It uses the negative energy to corrupt people. The personality of the Evil Orb also determines the powers that the Orb gives. What makes your Orb so powerful is that it knows the difference between right and wrong.”

“Whoa. Who knew?”

John woke up and murmured, “What happened? The last thing I remember was this weird thing landing in my backyard. Everything after that is a blur.”

“Quick, what year is this?” implored Robot Boy.

“1953,” answered John.

“Dude, you’re not even close. The current year is 2003. You’ve been living a horrible life, which you don’t remember anymore, for 50 years. Your said horrid life started when that Evil Orb corrupted you,” replied Robot Boy.

“That is whack. I must have gone completely crackers,” reckoned John.

“Crackers? Well, I’m not hungry for crackers. However, if you’re trying to say that you went cuckoo, then yes, you did,” speculated Robot Boy.

“What the heck do you mean by cuckoo?” questioned John.

“Bonkers, crazy, etc.” replied Robot Boy.

“Oh.”

“Anyway, as for proving your innocence, I’ll see if I can get someone to help you out,” suggested Robot Boy.

“Neato. Thanks,” smiled John.

“You're welcome,” said Robot Boy.

RB got on his Changing Rocket (currently in rocket mode) and left, later arriving at Superhero HQ 5.

When he got there, the boss was the first one to greet him.

“Welcome back, Jeremiah. Where is John?” wondered the boss.

“Oh, simple, really. I already cured him. By the way, John needs someone to help him prove his innocence because for some odd reason he can’t remember anything that happened to him while he had the Evil Orb,” replied Jeremiah.

“Well, it’s a good thing I’m also a lawyer,” stated the boss.

“What’s a lawyer? Hurricane said he was one, also, but I have no clue what one is,” inquired Jeremiah.

“Somebody who studies law. They usually help out in court cases/legal problems. Besides, it’s the perfect cover job since they both intertwine,” answered the boss.

“Oh.”

“Anyway, now I got a question for you. How did you figure out how to destroy the Evil Orbs in such a short amount of time without having to do a bunch of data analysis?” inquired the boss.

“You had me until you said something about data analysis. For the part I understood, the Orb apparently has a mind of its own causing it to take over my body and it showed me the process,” explained Jeremiah.

“That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. Then again, its probably the only logical explanation of how a seven-year-old can learn something that complex in such a short amount of time,” said the boss.

“Hey, now. I may only be in 1st Grade. However, I can still understand an insult when I hear one,” snarled Jeremiah.

“Just come on. We got five more people for you to cure,” said the boss.

“Five?” questioned Jeremiah.

“There was an incident with one of the prisoners. I’ll explain after all those Evil Orbs are destroyed,” answered the boss.

“Ok.”

They went inside the base. Jeremiah saw six groups of people. Five out of six of them had a prisoner. The groups that had a prisoner started forming a line. The boss came up.

He announced, “Everyone, pay attention. This kid right here is Jeremiah. I know what you’re thinking. ‘We’ve been waiting for a kid?’ In technical terms, yes. However, he is no ordinary kid. He has a powerful object inside of him called the Orb. It’s the only thing that can destroy the Evil Orbs without killing the person in the process. Everyone, line up so Jeremiah can do his thing.”

The first group was Sector 5 with the villain, Lighting Larry. His Evil Orb was quite easy to destroy. The second group was Sector 25 with the Masked Ghost. He had quite some difficulty with his Evil Orb. Third was Sector 38 with Whirlwind. Fourth was Sector 13 with Waterfall Pat. While Jeremiah was trying to cure him, everything from anvils to pianos tried crushing him. Eventually, he got it. Last was Sector 7 with the Psychic. During this process, money was practically flying into Jeremiah’s pockets. When Jeremiah was done, there was $1,000 in his pockets (which the boss took for the so-called “membership fee”). Like John, nobody had any memories of the time they were corrupted by the Evil Orb. The boss is rearranging his schedule for tomorrow because he is going to be busy.

He just got done and announced, “Ok, everyone. Congratulations on a job well done. We may call on you in the future to help with these Evil Orbs. For the most part, Jeremiah here will be in charge of all missions regarding the Evil Orbs. Thanks for your cooperation. Good night!”

Everyone left. The boss went up to Jeremiah.

“So what was the name of the villain that had the unfortunate incident? And, if possible, tell me what the incident was,” inquired Jeremiah.

“The villain’s name was Icy Pete. We have no clue what happened during the time Sector 22 was escorting her to Superhero HQ 5. However, they claim that they were attacked by an ice dragon on the way here,” explained the boss.

Jeremiah remembered the frozen ship he passed by when he left for his mission and implored, “That frozen ship I passed on the way out of the HQ was Sector 22’s ship, wasn’t it?”

“Yes. When they got back, Icy Pete was dead. Symptoms point to a complete loss of energy. According to Colossal Boy, the leader of Sector 22, the dragon was made from the Evil Orb’s energy. Without any energy, his body was no longer able to function,” explained the boss.

“Whoa. Well, you should probably keep a close eye on them. I better get back home, no telling if Computer got that robotic dummy of me finished or not,” commented Jeremiah.

“Okay, see you later.”

“Bye.”

Jeremiah got on his Changing Rocket and left.
