The Sloppy One's Unlucky Day

English

There was a man who was incredibly clumsy and accident-prone. One day, he went to visit his friend John who was an avid gardener. As he walked up to John's front door, he stumbled on a garden rake that swung up, hitting him squarely in the forehead.

"Ouch!" he yelled as the rake handle left a big bump on his head. John opened the door and started laughing hysterically when he saw his poor friend standing there with a rake sticking out of his face.

"It's not funny!" the clumsy friend protested. "I'm going to have a horrible headache!"

"Don't worry, I know what'll help," John said, still chuckling. He walked back inside and returned with a cold beer. "Here, have this, it'll make the pain disappear."

The unlucky friend took a big gulp of the beer. But as he did, John's mischievous dog ran between his legs, causing him to choke and spray beer all over his face.

John doubled over with laughter at the sight of his friend coughing and sputtering with beer dripping down his cheeks. "I spoke too soon, I guess the hair of the dog didn't help after all!"

Wiping beer from his eyes, the clumsy friend glared at John. "You think this is funny? I could have seriously hurt myself!"

"Oh lighten up," John replied, still grinning. "No one ever died from a little beer shower."

The hapless friend opened his mouth to retort, but at that moment he slipped on the wet ground, performing an inadvertent split. There was a sickening rrriiipppp as the crotch of his pants completely tore open.

John fell to the ground, paralyzed with laughter at his friend's latest misfortune. Tears were streaming down his face as he gasped for air between bellows.

The clumsy friend's face turned a deep shade of red from a mixture of anger and embarrassment. Gingerly, he attempted to stand up, but his shoelace was inexplicably tied to a garden gnome, causing him to fall flat on his back again.

By this point, John was making wheezing sounds, barely able to breathe from laughing so hard. He finally collected himself enough to pull out his phone and snap a picture of his disheveled friend.

"D-don't you dare!" the clumsy friend sputtered, trying in vain to cover himself.

"Oh, this one's a classic!" John hooted, admiring the ridiculous picture. "The guys down at the pub are going to love it!"

The unfortunate friend could only bury his face in his hands as John continued to howl with laughter at his expense. He realized it was going to be one of those days...again.

Somehow regaining his footing, the unlucky one limped towards the front door, hoping to escape any further humiliation. But calamity continued to follow him. As he stepped over the threshold, his untied shoelace caught on a loose nail, causing him to pitch forward. He reached out wildly to brace his fall, but his hand landed in an inopportune place - directly into a fresh pan of wet concrete that John had mistakenly left out.

"You have got to be kidding me!" John exclaimed between stomach-clenched guffaws at the sight of his friend's hand and forearm hopelessly stuck in the rapidly hardening cement. Tears of mirth rolled down his cheeks as his body shook uncontrollably.

The clumsy friend sat there, utterly defeated. He knew the stories of this day's mishaps would be told and re-told for years to come at the local pub. All he could do was hang his head and await the raillery that was sure to come once the others arrived. Truly, it was shaping up to be one supremely unlucky day.
