On a cold winter night, Laila stood by her window, staring at the moon as if waiting for an answer. Since her mother passed away, the moon had become her only friend… she whispered to it, cried to it, and sometimes even smiled at it.
But that night, something strange happened.
The moonlight suddenly dimmed… then split into two. From within the glow, a girl appeared—someone who looked exactly like Laila.
She stepped back, her heart racing.
“Don’t be afraid,” the girl said softly. “I am the spirit of hope your mother left for you.”
Laila’s eyes filled with tears.
“My mother… is she okay? Can she see me?”
The girl smiled gently and held out her hand.
“She is closer than you think… but she wants you to live, not stay trapped in sadness.”
Hesitant, Laila reached out and took her hand.
In an instant, she found herself in a strange world—purple skies above, and a ground that shimmered like stars.
There, her memories came alive.
Her mother’s laughter, her warm embrace, her loving voice calling her name…
Laila broke down in tears.
“I miss her so much… I feel lost without her.”
The girl stepped closer and hugged her.
“Love never disappears… it becomes a strength inside you. Your mother didn’t leave you—she planted her light in your heart.”
A warm glow surrounded Laila, filling her with a feeling she hadn’t known in a long time.
When she opened her eyes… she was back in her room.
The moon looked the same, but something inside her had changed.
The sadness was no longer overwhelming… a small, quiet hope had taken its place.
For the first time in days, Laila smiled and whispered to the moon:
“I’m okay now… because you’re still with me, Mom.”
And in that moment… the moon shone brighter than ever, as if it was smiling back.
