So, there's this guy named Jake. He's always been a bit of a downer, you know? Like, finding the cloud in every silver lining. One day, he wakes up and everything just... clicks. His coffee tastes amazing, his boss gives him a raise, and his crush asks him out. He's on top of the world!
But here's the weird part - it freaks him out. Like, big time.
He starts looking over his shoulder, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Every time he laughs, he immediately checks his phone, sure there's gonna be some awful news. His friends are all "Dude, chill! Enjoy it!" But Jake can't shake this feeling that something terrible is about to happen.
Turns out, for Jake, the scariest thing wasn't failure or rejection. Nope. It was happiness. Because now he had something to lose.
Wild, right? Sometimes our brains are our own worst enemies.
