The Retirement Plan
An investigation into a bank heist contains shocking revelations
Janine Chambers' drive home saw her collect many thoughts. For one, her retirement party. After over two decades on the force, which saw her climb the ranks to captain, Janine was calling it a career. Another thought she had was the press conference she gave regarding her last case: a bank heist.
"The case regarding the bank robbery is now closed. We had long suspected that it was an inside job, committed by the bank's manager, Hannah Silver, who took her own life after leaving a written confession."
Janine smiled while reminiscing, but after returning home and entering her study, her smile became more sinister as she opened her safe. Inside the safe: a vast majority of the bank's money, and the mask she wore while committing the robbery, as well as entering Hannah's home and killing her, as Hannah recognized her voice. Janine wanted more than the pension she was receiving, and she got it in spades, while using her resources to find Hannah's residence before eliminating her. The heist she had planned for a year went off without a hitch, and the one loose end was tied up, resulting in a very wealthy retirement for the evil Janine.
