The ram had been discovered just before dawn when the shepherd was alerted by one of his bloodied guard dogs. The dogs were valiant, but the wolf was swift, and the deed was done. The ram had not yet mated with the ewes for the season. There would be no new lambs in the south field come spring.
“This wolf was possessed.” The shepherd said, holding up the shredded collar of his heroic and injured companion.
“A wolf doesn’t do this.” Another herder shook his head. “The throat was ripped out, not one bite taken.”
There was nothing left to do but pray that the wolf truly was dead.

Wow, this is amazing! Congrats on the challenge! 😊
Wow ! it's really incredible how you captured it all in a microfiction and it feels like each of the fragment is still open telling more of a story to imagine ! which leaves reader with another kind of an imaginary !
I am SO impressed! Great story! I just can't write microfiction but this is really good.
