The Pursuit

A woman finds herself pursued by an otherworldly admirer

By Clyde E. DawkinsPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Monica's heart was racing. She didn't expect to be found out at a crowded nightclub, but she was, and she raced out of there in a flash. Monica walked as fast as she could, but it seemed like the pursuit was still continuing. It wasn't far between the club and the building she lived in, and Monica managed to enter the building and make it safely in the elevator.

As Monica sighed with relief, the elevator came to a sudden stop once it reached the second floor. Fog seeped through the doors, followed by darkness in the elevator, which led to Monica screaming for help. Her cries were responded by a familiar voice.

"Hello, Monica."

"Angelica!" Monica exclaimed, as Angelica stood behind her, smirking evilly while brandishing her vampire fangs.

"Don't act so frightened," said Angelica. "After all, you took something from me. You stole my heart. I can tell just by looking at you that you're crazy about me."

Monica's expression told the tale, going from fear to restrained amorousness. Angelica later responded to Monica's heist with one of her own: taking Monica's humanity. Monica became Angelica's vampire bride, and the pair kissed to celebrate their eternal love together.
