The Plan
A Micro-Fiction Story By Birithivy Yogaratnam
"Good evening folks," said the leader. "If you're here, you know what the plan is: to rob and take down the biggest underground gambling syndicate. They've got more money within the confines of their establishment than any Vegas or Atlantic City casino. And we are going to take each and every single dollar out of there." Everyone looked at the leader confused. The 100 or so individuals all looked at him, as he spoke to them with a sheer amount of confidence and swagger.
"Each one of you is numbered from 1-100, and each of you is assigned a task within this mission. Whatever money you make in your time there, its yours. As you all know, outside of your number, none of you will divulge any personal info to each other. The purpose of this mission is top secret, and no one outside of this room shall know that this heist exists. Not your mom, dad, siblings, friends, or even your dentist. You will be assigned special in-ear devices to help rig things in your favour and to help communicate with everyone. The pot is 230 million dollars." Everyone's attention peaked when hearing the amount.
"So, are you ready?"

Dog Days
Sometimes I wonder while wandering around: what’s the meaning of life? Sure, as a dog its hard to ask that question. Life sure goes by quickly. So much to do, so little time. So much sights to see and scents to smell. Everytime me and my parents’ go to the park, I smile when I see their happiness while on our walks. If there’s a real answer to the meaning of life it could be this: happiness. For me, I’m just happy I can lie around, and hang with my best friends on a lazy sunday. What a life.

Smartystan
Flags flew freely in the summer breeze. They consisted of a gray and white brain against a black background. Scales of gold sat just beneath the image of the organ. The sun rose at just the zenith and shared its light and warmth with the attendees to one of the country-states’ greatest accomplishments: the graduation of two women who had been in a halfway house and found their passions for art design and communications. Mala and Sheltham looked on with sunglasses and cheered the graduates. With the knowledge they had months to go before being up on that stage, they looked at each other and grinned. After the ceremony, they walked into a pizza restaurant that fit their budgets.
