The Ornate Box

As the sun began to set over the small town of Millfield, Sarah walked down the quiet street, her thoughts consumed by the events of the day. She had just lost her job, and her boyfriend had broken up with her. She was feeling lost and alone, unsure of what the future held.

Without thinking, she picked it up and opened it. Inside, there was a note that read, "Make a wish, and it will come true".

Sarah laughed to herself, thinking it was just a silly gimmick. But as she closed her eyes and made a wish, she felt a strange energy coursing through her body.
