The Neolomicro of a Tear
Sarah's tear reveals a new world of possibilities
Sarah stared at her tear as it fell onto the microscope slide. It was a perfect microcosm of her world, a tiny universe of emotions. She could see the swirling currents of anger, the eddies of sadness, and the glittering shards of joy.
She zoomed in closer, and closer still until she could see the individual atoms that made up her tear. Each atom was a tiny world unto itself, with its unique history and trajectory.
Sarah realized that her tear was not just a tear, but a neolomicro. It was a new world, a world of endless possibilities.
She closed her eyes and imagined herself stepping into her tear. She found herself in a strange and wonderful place, where the laws of physics didn't apply. She could fly, she could walk through walls, and she could change her shape at will.
Sarah explored her neolomicro with delight. She met all sorts of strange and wonderful creatures, and she learned all sorts of amazing things.
But eventually, it was time to return home. Sarah stepped back into her tears and found herself back in her world. She was grateful for her neolomicro, for it had shown her the beauty and wonder of the world, even in the smallest of things.

The Seventh Step
“It’s a different room every time. Sometimes it’s my grandma’s house from when I was little. Sometimes it’s my college apartment. Sometimes it’s somewhere unfamiliar, but always there are the stairs. I know I have to go up, but I’m afraid. I can feel my heart pounding and I feel sick, but I don’t know why. It’s like my body isn’t mine anymore, and I start up the stairs, and I’m thinking ‘No, stop!’ but I just keep going. When I get a ways up, I try to take another step but, instead, I fall backwards. I can feel myself in the air, just in a panic, nothing to hold on to and no way to stop, just falling, falling, falling until THUMP! And then I wake up.”
