What was in the room?
Nobody knew. The door had been locked for years, for so long that we no longer remembered.
Each night, I walked to the black door, holding the candle in my hand. Should I get the key? I knew where it was.
But each night, I walked away to my room and climbed into bed, thinking about the consequences if I did unlock it.
