The Man Who Turned Into a Monster

There was once a man who turned into a monster. It started as a good idea, and he convinced himself it was necessary for survival. He lived in paradise but didn’t see it that way. To him, the world was merciless and cruel to anyone not properly equipped and prepared.

He saw himself as weak and vulnerable because he had no protection. So, to defend himself, he looked outward for ways to stay guarded from any potential danger he might encounter. 

He was naked, so he needed to be clothed. To meet this shortcoming, he stripped the palm trees of their leaves so no one would find him exposed. He felt powerless, so he redirected the waterfall from its original destination to power his machinery for the daily task. 

His ideas worked at first. However, as the sun kept shining, its radiant beauty became vengeance day by day and beat down upon the bare earth. It wasn’t long until the trees and vegetation dried up without the proper resources. After the fish were gone, the mammals followed after. One day, the man could cover himself no longer with the leaves of the trees because they had all withered away. He could no longer empower himself without the strength from feeding on his crop and the fowl of the land.  Looking out into the world, he saw it barren from the utopia he knew.

He finally realized that the only protection he needed was from his mind, but the man who turned himself into a monster found out when it was too late.
