The Love Heist
Opportunity Knocks
She was a brilliant, independent, self-motivated go getter. Graduated, top of her class. Art came easy for her. She created worlds that most only get glimpses of, in the tabloids or on tv.
She was living hers.
Starting a new adventure in New York City. Full ride - to the most prestigious art school on the East coast.
For extra cash, she operated a small art boutique in Hudson. The owner had her selling her own work out of his store front. She had created several pieces; in fact, a buyer was coming that day, to collect her biggest sale yet.
That afternoon, the bell above the door rang.
A young man sauntered in, making his way into the backroom and grabbing a snack from the fridge. She hurried him out, scowling. "Uh, you don't belong back here," pointing at the "employees only" sign.
He grinned, "oh, yeah, sorry, my pop owns the place," he said, "I'm here to pick up some work I had commissioned." She gasped, immediately looking mortified.
"Hey, no worries," he said," have drinks with me to make it up?"
Hesitantly, she agreed.
They became inseparable. From that very first encounter, he had stolen her heart.

Chance encounters, so serendipitous, sweetly told. Editorial Note: In the paragraph, "Starting a new adventure in New York City. Full ride - to the most prestige's art school on the East coast," did you mean "prestigious"?
This is very cute story 🥰
Well done!!! Beautiful spin on the Heist challenge. I really went on a journey with the artist in the story. Love this very much.
