As the sun began to set over the desert, Sarah tightened her grip on the steering wheel of her Jeep. She had been driving for hours, trying to outrun the storm that was brewing on the horizon. But now, she was running out of time.

She had been searching for the Lost City of the Ancients for years, and she had finally found it. Legend had it that the city was home to a powerful artifact that could grant its owner immortality. Sarah didn't believe in magic, but she was desperate to find the artifact. She had lost everyone she loved to illness and old age, and she was tired of living in a world where everything and everyone she cared about was destined to wither away.

As she approached the entrance to the city, the wind picked up, and the sand began to whip around her Jeep. She could hear the distant rumble of thunder, and she knew that the storm was about to hit. She parked the Jeep and stepped out into the sand, pulling her hood up over her head. She could see the entrance to the city just ahead, a massive stone archway flanked by two towering statues.

As she approached the archway, she felt a strange energy coursing through her body. She had never experienced anything like it before, and it made her feel both exhilarated and terrified. She took a deep breath and stepped through the archway.

Inside, the city was a maze of crumbling stone buildings and twisting alleys. Sarah could feel the power of the artifact drawing her deeper into the city, and she followed the pull of its energy. As she turned a corner, she saw a figure standing in the shadows, watching her.

It was a man, tall and muscular, with a wild look in his eyes. Sarah reached for the gun at her side, but the man moved faster than she could react. He grabbed her wrist and twisted it, sending the gun flying out of her hand.

"Who are you?" Sarah demanded, struggling to break free from his grip.

The man didn't answer. Instead, he dragged her deeper into the city, his grip like an iron vice around her wrist. As they moved through the deserted streets, Sarah could feel the storm growing stronger outside. The wind howled through the alleys, and the rain began to pound against the stone walls.

Finally, they reached a small building at the edge of the city. The man pushed Sarah inside, slamming the door behind them. Inside, the building was dark and damp, the walls covered in mold and mildew.

The man turned to face her, and Sarah could see the madness in his eyes. "You're not supposed to be here," he growled.

Sarah backed away, her heart racing. "I'm not leaving without the artifact," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.

The man lunged at her, and Sarah dodged out of the way. She ran towards the door, but the man caught up to her, grabbing her by the hair and throwing her to the ground.

Sarah hit the ground hard, and the breath was knocked out of her. She scrambled to her feet, but the man was on her again, his hands closing around her throat. She struggled to breathe, clawing at his hands, but he was too strong.

As Sarah's vision began to fade, she saw a flash of light in the corner of her eye. Suddenly, the man was thrown across the room, slamming into the wall with a sickening thud.

Sarah gasped for air, scrambling to her feet. She saw a figure standing in the doorway, illuminated by the lightning outside. It was a woman, with long dark hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Who are you?" Sarah asked, her voice hoarse.

The woman didn't
