Aubrey’s heart pounded so hard, but she made sure that her breath could not be heard. She was the lookout as Landon cleaned out the safe at his job.

He had been planning the inside job at the jewelry store for over a year. As soon as he got hired.

"One last hit baby and we are set for life! You just be my lucky charm and make sure the coast is clear!"

She was, she let him know the coast was clear as he walked over with a shit-eating grin. He held out the necklace the one she had been eyeing since he got the job. A smoky quartz necklace that moved with her pounding heart when he kissed her.

Aubrey would do anything for him.

“Hands up!”

“Shit!” Landon bit her lip when they realized that they were caught.

"Hands up!” The policeman came into view and Landon grabbed the bag and Aubrey.

Dressed all in black with just her lips and eyes exposed, Aubrey was not sure the policeman saw her. Landon pulled out his gun, but the policeman beat him to the punch.

She would know in her afterlife since the bullet ended her current life.
