The Little Creature

Mother Nature, Language and Time

Once upon a time there was a Little Creature, no more human than any human baby and no more animal than any cute cub. And since it had been thrown into the world and found itself all alone in a strange new place, it had no other choice but to start exploring.

And exploring was fun, and all the faces and places, all the colors and feelings, all the creatures, all the textures and tastes, all the winds and storms and sunshines came and went and left a mark on our little creature, just like a wet finger leaves a temporary fingerprint on a piece of paper. And every day was a new day and a new exploration, creating new experiences and feelings. And it was all new to her and exciting. And nothing bothered the Little Creature. For she did not know anything about Time, tomorrow or yesterday.

She was alone and that was o.k.

She was not being guided and taught and that was o.k.

She was not being told and asked and that was o.k.

She had no expectations, hopes, dreams or wishes. How could she, as she had never learned any human language or any human words to express such things.

And nothing was right or wrong, since she knew no language to express and think such things.

And nothing was good or evil.

And nothing was black or white.

And there was only now.

For her everything was like a sparkling garden, with millions of shiny colors where she spent all of her time, living, laughing and exploring, wondering at everything that she could see, smell, hear and touch.

And she was happy and playful, content and fulfilled, although she did not know it. Remember, she knew no language to think or express such things and feelings.

And the garden was always there, no matter where she went; it sometimes changed, but somehow it remained the same: sparkling, shiny and filled with millions of colors and wonderful adventures.

Because this beautiful colorful garden was always with her, and she always had new things to explore and experience, the Little Creature never had time to think about yesterday’s colors, yesterday’s winds and weather or yesterday’s feelings. Besides, she didn't even know that there was a 'yesterday'. So all the marks that were left on her yesterday, were always gone the next day. Even though she did not realize it, she wasn't living a next day either, since she knew no Language and nobody had taught her about Time.

And day in day out, after some time had passed, the Little Creature became the Great Explorer of the Garden of Life. Nobody told her it was the Garden of Life, and she definitely could not name it that, since she spoke no Language. It was just something she felt. And the sparkle and colors of her garden, which was always with her, could be seen from miles away. And naturally, in time, other Little Creatures (who also didn’t speak any language), just as happy and playful as our now Great Explorer, were drawn to her garden and came to see it.

And after some time, our Great Explorer was no longer alone in the Garden of Life, she had made friends, although, she didn’t know they were her friends, as she did not speak any Language. And the Garden of Life was filled with laughter and joy and playfulness and expansion.

And Mother Nature provided them with everything they needed, away from and without Time and Language.

I think they might still all be living there...
