This story is about the life of a creature that once lived on this planet over sixty five million years ago. It is about a young dinosaur who's very life was saved by his own foolishness. Our story begins on the forests of what would soon become Montana after the extinction of the dinosaurs. A young female triceratops is guarding her nest amongst the others that surround her own. It is her first season, and she is doing her best to ensure that nothing goes wrong with her very first clutch.

Several weeks have passed since she has laid her eggs, and it is just beginning to get lively with new hatchlings all around her from other nests. Soon too does her own brood begin to emerge, and soon it begins; the annual teaching of new offspring. Learning from their mother, the new hatchlings follow her every move and get and understanding of what to eat and what to avoid, that is, for one little triceratops. His name is Twister, aptly named for his first encounter with a prehistoric vine that causes one to waddle and spin as if they are drunk if it is consumed. He has a very curious personality and a horn that matches as well since it curves in a spiral rather than straight forward.

The home in which Twister lives in is covered in a variety of foliage, from cycad forest to low hanging ferns and even early palm trees. With so much to eat, it doesn't take long for Twister and his siblings to start growing larger. About a year after hatching, the triceratops herd that Twister is apart of is beginning to stir, meaning its about time for the annual migration to start. Since he has never been on one before, he just goes with the flow and follows the rest of the herd as they move on to greener pastures down south. Only a few days into the migration, Twister ends up eating another of those intoxicating vines, and ends up wandering off from the herd. Drunk and confused, Twister starts going West instead of South and soon finds himself in a very precarious predicament. A few families of Tyrannosaur have been stalking the triceratops herds since they had started their migration, and seeing as little Twister decides to split off from the rest, one of the youngest decides to try and tackle the challenge of bringing down a triceratops by himself.

Unbeknownst to the young triceratops he had an unwelcome dinner date with an unsavory customer. The young Tyrannosaurus went by the name of Half-Step, since he was the runt of his clutch and couldn't walk as fast as the rest. Upon coming up to this young triceratops, the only thing on the mind of this young predator was to take its prey down and munch on its succulent carcass. Being half delirious at the time, young Twister was unsure of what to make of his surroundings. After an ear splitting roar rang in his ears, Twister soon became more alert of what was going on around him but he still couldn't quite see straight. Half-Step soon made his move from behind his prey and unluckily for him he soon came to meet not an appetizing lunch in his jaws, but a mouthful of rocks and twigs.

Twister had been so panicked by the roar of the young tyrannosaur that he started to spin around in a circle and being part drunk, he ended up face planting himself right into the path of Half-Steps foot. The twisted horn that Twister had upon his head had managed to drive itself right into the center of the young tyrannosaurs foot and sent him barreling right over his drunken self without a scratch. Dazed but alive, the young tyrannosaur soon recovered to his feet. Although, now that he had a giant hole in his foot that stung like crazy and the idea of taking on this little triceratops alone made him reconsider taking Twister on alone. He initially decides that retreating would be the best course of action for him to take in order for him to ever have a chance at getting a meal without getting stabbed.

Soon after, Twister recovers his mental stability and following his ears and nose, makes his way back to his herd migrating south. His mother was quite worried for him seeing as he managed to catch up to the herd well after sunset, but nonetheless she was just glad he was safe. The rest of the journey south ended without a hitch and everyone enjoyed they abundant greenery until it was time to head up north again. Several years and migrations later, Twister has grown up and he is now leading his own family on the migrations to and from their grazing grounds. Even Half-Step the Tyrannosaur is following the same routine, although he does keep his kids closer to him since he can't run as fast with his holey foot and keep an eye on them at the same time. In the end, these two will always be on the same path with one another and who knows. Maybe one of Twisters kids may make the same mistakes he did and save himself from the jaws of a inexperienced young tyrannosaur, but no one will know since they are no longer walking amongst us today.
