The life and times of the Ento Gang Episode 1

A gang of outlaw's on a far flung planet take a score

The gang sat on their repulsor bikes overlooking the open desert. Their buddy Jin-To was under the light rail setting up thermite, Jonathan Macarthur watched him setting the charges and grumbled, “Who let an off-worlder handle the explosives?”. The larger man among them grunted, “When he proved he had the setups for this.” This man's name was Ento. He was known for this exact heist. Eventually, the light rail train raced toward the junction and Jin-To was seen scrambling on his bike to avoid its automated turrets. As it drove the crossroads Ento smacked the detonator setting off the thermite and melting the steel. Then the charges blew, throwing train sections and pieces of rail here and there. The men rode into the fray. They knew the section which sat at 13 of the 25 sections now lying on its side. Jin-To came riding up and dropped from his bike clumsily, “Careful you damned fool!” barked Jonathan, “Gonna set off your own damned bomb.” Jin-To cursed quietly as he went to work, cutting into the steel and ceramic door, “Cartel don’t want us in here.” the offworlder laughed. As it opened Jonathon and Ento drew their pistols letting off streaks of yellow energy into the security bots that burst out, throwing Jin-To off the cart.

Jonathan dismounted his bike and stormed up to the car. “Careful!” Ento barked at his compatriot, Jonathan, while a reliable hand was testing him this day. An armored vehicle came rolling up, Syndicate flags fluttering on it. Jonathan looked at Ento, “Seriously? These fools?” Ento gave him a cold gaze that in the years they rode together told Jon he was pushing it. The vehicle stopped and a man in body armor and full face mask exited the troop carrier, “Ento. You’ve certainly delivered.” The man laughed behind his mask, “Omi, Of course I do. You know I like to keep the syndicate men happy.” Omi nodded to the train, “Payment is at your usual drop,” his eyes returned to Ento's two storm grey orbs, “And do make sure no more of our convoys are ambushed.” Ento nodded gently and turned to the gang motioning for them to clear out. They hooted and hollered the whole ride back to base. A small shack set in a gorge, looking abandoned from the outside. Disguising their bikes using nearby crevices.

Ento lifted the briefcase onto the table between the 3 men. Opening it showed somewhere between 8.5 million and 10 million credits. “Okay to divvy up the cuts.” Ento set the lion's share for himself of course, for ‘expenses’. About 1.5 million went to Jonathon and half a million to Jin-To who was livid. “This is not our agreement. I was to receive 2 and a half million!” As he reached for his pistol 3 laser bolts ripped into his chest. Stumbling back and looking at Jonathan he fell dead with a heavy thump. “Knew we couldn’t trust him.” Jonathan slid a quarter million into his bag and the other quarter to Ento. “To a successful heist!” Jonathan shouted as he walked out to go do whatever it was he did with his cut. Ento nodded to Jin-To’s body, “My condolences.”, burying the body in an unmarked grave Ento was off to make a steady round of paying bribes and hiding the rest.
