Hello there, my name is Stone. I am a small, gray rock that was once kicked by a student on their way home from school. My life has been quite interesting, and I am excited to share my journey with you.

It all started when a student, who was running late for school, kicked me out of their way. I was thrown into a pile of other stones and forgotten about. For a while, I just lay there, feeling unimportant and unnoticed. But then, one day, a young girl came along and picked me up. She examined me closely, turning me over in her hand and examining my rough surface. I wondered what she was going to do with me.

To my surprise, she took me home and put me on her desk. I was a paperweight! For the first time in my life, I had a purpose. I was happy to be useful and to have a home. I spent my days on her desk, keeping her papers from flying away in the wind. Sometimes, she would pick me up and examine me, rubbing her fingers over my surface. I liked the attention, and I felt valued.

by the children But one day, something changed. The girl stopped coming to her room as often, and I was left alone for longer and longer periods. Eventually, I was forgotten about again. I sat on the desk, gathering dust and feeling sad. I wondered if I would ever have a purpose again.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I began to think that I would spend the rest of my life on the dusty desk, with no purpose or value. But then, something miraculous happened. The girl's little brother came into the room and picked me up. He looked at me for a moment and then walked over to the window. I wondered what he was doing.

To my surprise, he opened the window and tossed me out into the yard. I was scared, and I wondered where I was going to end up. But then, I felt a sense of freedom. For the first time in my life, I was flying through the air, and it felt amazing.

I landed on the grass with a thud, and I could hear the boy laughing. He had thrown me like a frisbee! For a while, I lay there, feeling a bit disoriented. But then, I realized that I was surrounded by other stones, just like me. I was no longer alone, and I felt a sense of belonging.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I spent my time in the yard, getting kicked around and enjoying my new sense of purpose. I was no longer a forgotten paperweight but a part of a community of stones.

But then, something unexpected happened. The family decided to move. I wondered what was going to happen to me. Would I be left behind? Would I be forgotten about again?

To my surprise, the family packed me up and took me with them. I was going on a new adventure! We drove for hours, and I wondered where we were going. But then, we arrived at a beautiful river. The family walked over to the edge of the water, and I wondered what they were going to do.

To my surprise, the girl's mother picked me up and threw me into the river. I was scared, and I wondered where I was going to end up. But then, something amazing happened. I floated down the river, surrounded by other stones. I watched as the trees and the birds went by, feeling a sense of wonder and awe.

Eventually, I landed on the bank of the river, surrounded by other stones. I realized that I had found a new home, a new community of stones to belong to. The river was a whole new world to explore, and I couldn't wait to see what adventures lay ahead.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I watched as the river changed with the seasons, flowing fast and strong in the spring and slowing down in the hot summer months. I saw fish swim by and watched as birds perched on the rocks. I felt a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that I was a part of this beautiful and ever-changing world.

But then, something unexpected happened again. A storm came, and the river started to rise. The water was rushing past me, faster and faster, and I felt scared. I wondered if I was going to be washed away, lost forever.

But then, something miraculous happened. A hand reached down and picked me up. It was the girl, the one who had kicked me on her way home from school so long ago. She looked at me closely, examining my surface just like she had done when she first picked me up. I wondered what she was going to do with me.

To my surprise, she put me in her pocket and took me with her. We walked for hours, and I wondered where we were going. But then, we arrived at a beautiful garden. The girl took me out of her pocket and placed me on a windowsill. I was a part of a new community of stones, surrounded by flowers and plants.

For the first time in my life, I felt like I had a permanent home. I was no longer being kicked around or tossed aside, but I was valued and loved. The girl would come by and visit me, sometimes picking me up and examining me, just like she had done when she first found me.

Years went by, and I watched as the garden changed with the seasons, just like the river had. I saw the flowers bloom and fade, and I watched as the plants grew taller and stronger. And through it all, I remained a constant, a small gray stone that had found a new home.

Looking back on my journey, I realize that life is full of surprises. Sometimes, we get kicked around and forgotten about, but other times, we find new homes and new communities to belong to. It's up to us to embrace these changes and to find joy and purpose in every situation. And who knows, maybe someday, I'll find a new adventure and a new community of stones to belong to once again.
