It was a beautiful day in the college hostel, and the five friends, John, Sarah, Mark, Emily, and David, were sitting in the common room, chatting and laughing. They had all been friends for years and shared a close bond. But their joy was short-lived when they received the shocking news that one of their own had been murdered in his room.

The police arrived soon after and began their investigation. They questioned each of the friends, trying to piece together what had happened. But none of them had any useful information. They were all in the common room together at the time of the murder and hadn't seen or heard anything unusual.

John was the first to break down. He was inconsolable and kept repeating that he couldn't believe that one of his best friends was gone. Sarah tried to comfort him, but she was just as upset as he was. Mark, Emily, and David were more composed, but the shock and sadness were written all over their faces.

The police continued their investigation, but there were no leads, no suspects, and no motive for the murder. The five friends were starting to lose hope of ever finding the murderer when a strange letter arrived in the mail. It was addressed to all of them and contained a cryptic message, "The truth lies within."

John, Sarah, Mark, Emily, and David were determined to find out what the letter meant. They poured over every detail, trying to decipher its meaning. And then, they discovered that the letter had been written by the murderer himself.

The friends were horrified, but also excited. They now had a lead in the investigation. They decided to confront the murderer and find out why he had killed their friend. They agreed to meet in the common room at midnight, when they were sure they wouldn't be disturbed.

The clock struck midnight, and the friends gathered in the common room, tense and anxious. Suddenly, the door burst open, and the murderer stepped into the room. It was David.

The friends were stunned. They couldn't believe that one of their own could be capable of such a heinous act. David confessed that he had killed their friend out of jealousy. He had been in love with Sarah for years and was jealous of the attention that their friend was getting from her.

John, Sarah, Mark, and Emily were horrified. They couldn't believe that their friend had been driven to murder by such a petty emotion. They told David that he needed to turn himself in to the police and face the consequences of his actions.

David agreed, and the friends called the police. When they arrived, David confessed to the murder and was taken into custody. The friends were shocked and saddened by the turn of events, but they were also relieved that the murderer had been found and that justice would be served.

In the end, the friends learned a valuable lesson about the dangers of jealousy and the importance of embracing their differences. They vowed to never let such a tragedy happen again and to always remember their fallen friend. They scattered his ashes in the college garden, where they would always be together, forever bound by the memories of the life they had shared.

The mystery of the murder in the college hostel was finally solved, but the friends would never forget the shock and sadness of losing one of their own. They would always remember the good times they had shared and the lessons they had learned, and they would never let jealousy come between them again.
