The Innocent and War-Monger Encounter
...how war kills all tomorrows...
Once a farmer gave a heifer calf to a young widow with no husband killed in the Russian invasion. "She’ll comfort you now and later give you milk and maybe her own calf in time."
Indeed, the calf is joyously welcomed, kissing her ruddy face, hugging her warm body tightly, giving shelter in the house, away from screaming skies, and wandering ravenous street dogs.
Inevitably, one morning, a large dog in pangs of hunger did kill her calf.
But there were no more tears left for blood-soaked memories of civilization savaged by an evil war-monger.

Dear A.B. ~ I like 'Percy' ~ As very much into 'Pet Tail Tales,' as I've mentioned to you I've written a short "Rescue" on behalf of - Pet Haven Minnesota - the lovely Director is very-very much a 'Cat' person. It does my heart good that so many 'New-Home' adoptions came from this silly-short. We do have much in common albeit with different 'styles' within our writing messages as evidence in your "How to counter teen phone addiction" to my "Brain Freeze" - Thank you for your inspirations - And, although I so hate to be a self-promoter, as a Teacher you will relate to my "Cheat" Jay Kantor, Chatsworth, California 'Senior' Vocal Author - Vocal Author Community -
