The Gambler and the Ferryman
The origin of coined phrases
Norman’s pocket purse was empty save a penny, and the debtors stood ready to collect with force. Life’s game was afoot with this one last gamble.
He knew the end was near when tails and the disembodied head spun round and round, to land, and show its ass.
Condemned, he quickly retrieved the obol to his mouth before the big bang and sudden darkness.
Charon and his boat soon appeared at the River Styx before him and said, “A penny for your thoughts.”
Norman opened his mouth, “That’s ferry nice of you. A penny saved is a penny earned.”

What's up Doc? I'm just gonna leave the coiny comebacks to Randy, you've already used up all of mine in yer story. That was tons of fun, nicely done Scott!
And an obol in the mouth is worth two for the bushwhacker.
LOL a good chuckle or two in there. Great job, Scott!
