The credit score continued to rise and rise. In all the turmoil that had been his life, he lifted himself out of the slums of Wilmington, Delaware and became a captain of industry in the fossil fuel sector.

His selfishness, his kindness, and his awareness in the industry propelled him to sign the memo to be sent out to the company.

People literally pounded on his door.

“We can’t go through with this, sir. The environmentalists?” His COO Marilyn Maffa appealed to him. “You’re saying that we will continue to use fossil fuels forever. We were getting rid of carbon.”
