A CEO writes up a letter.
The credit score continued to rise and rise. In all the turmoil that had been his life, he lifted himself out of the slums of Wilmington, Delaware and became a captain of industry in the fossil fuel sector.
His selfishness, his kindness, and his awareness in the industry propelled him to sign the memo to be sent out to the company.
People literally pounded on his door.
“We can’t go through with this, sir. The environmentalists?” His COO Marilyn Maffa appealed to him. “You’re saying that we will continue to use fossil fuels forever. We were getting rid of carbon.”

The Metaverse Mixer: A Glitch in the Matrix? From her tightly fixed bun, a strand of auburn hair escaped the claws of Maya's sleek clip, caressing her cheek as it fell. Lifting her fingertips from where they had danced on the keyboard, she pinched the hair back into place and resumed typing. For a few more seconds, there was a hidden rhythm in the tapping of her unpainted fingernails until, in a culminating moment, the enter key was pressed. She read the message aloud to ensure its meaning could not be misinterpreted.
