He was tired. He had been tired his whole life. He wasn't very good at "life" either. At 25 , he worked as a cashier at his local grocery store. He wanted to escape the realities and cruelties of life. Life was never easy for him. His father was an alcoholic and his mother left when he was a child. His father would be drunk most of the times and took his rage out on him. He never spoke a word about this to anyone. He thought it wasn't his father's fault , he thought it was his. He worked from 7 in the morning till 8 in the night or sometimes until

the supermarket closed at midnight. His only friend and companion was his Employer , a 60 year old woman with no children or kin whatsoever. She loved him as his own. He confided in her

and she was the only person that made him "feel" something. While cashing a crate of eggs , someone in the queue yelled to turn on the Store's television. He liked television. He turned the volume up. A pretty lady spoke with terror on her face , as CNN announced , that scientists had detected something heading towards Earth. "Met-Metor..." he was very good at reading either. He never liked letters. He hated studying.

"A Meteor , it's a bloody meteor!" , Someone yelled. He knew what a meteor was. Apparently a Meteor was heading towards earth and it was big. The lady on the television was cutoff by a well dressed man presumably a scientist who non-chalant-ly stated that the meteor was more than 100 kilometers long and there is no way it could be stopped. He felt like he had seen this well dressed man earlier. "We're all gonna die!" he shouted in horror. He knew that something like this killed the dinosaurs millions of years ago. The scientist continued , ".... and as this object is extremely large , we cannot shoot it down or blow it up with a missile. We believe that upon crashing into Earth which it will in approximately 15 minutes , the collision would itself cause earthquakes all over the world. Earth's rotation would slow down and there would be storms and tsunamis capable of such destruction that mankind cannot comprehend. The Earth will end and so will manki...." , and then the power went out. He knew what he had to do. He needed to protect her. Chaos erupted in the moments thereafter. Everyone started hoarding supplies and looting the store. He held her hand and said "We have to leave this place now!" but the lady firmly held her hand and said "It's okay honey , it will all be okay. Just look out the window for me". He looked out and to his horror and amazement he saw it. He saw a glow of light which grew brighter every instant. He held her hand tightly. And then It went dark.

"Blood Pressure is dropping!" yelled the old nurse but the doctor knew it was over.

"What category should we put the death in , sir?" asked the guy from the morgue. "He was schizophrenic. He had this massive seizure and he died." said the zoned-out Doctor. "okay , so , seizures...." murmured the guy. The doctor went out for a smoke and he looked at the sky. The sky looked beautiful after the sunset. The beautiful maroon twilight. The city lights. Just when he thought everything was okay and his patient screaming "We're all gonna die!" wasn't enough , he saw it. He saw the Meteor.
