Zach and Jerry went bowling every Saturday. They were stepbrothers and had very little in common. Zach was a good kid generally and was introverted. Jerry hung out with the bad boys who smoked in bathrooms, and looked at pornography. One day Jerry brought a few of his friends to the bowling place. They snuck in alcohol in juice containers.
The boys offered the alcohol to Zach, however Zach naturally suspicious smelled the drink and refused. He cautioned Jerry not to. Their stepfather was strict. If Jerry got drunk, he would be in for a punishment. Jerry refused to listen and like the other boys drank while playing. Jerry who was the superior bowler started playing poorly. After a bit he went to the bathroom and vomited.
Jerry and Zach were soon left alone. The other boys had got sick too from the booze. The two boys headed home. Zach stopped at a store and bought mints. He gave them to Jerry. At home the parents greeted the boys. Jerry stumbled on his words. The stepfather asked Zach if Jerry was drunk to which Zach replied-"he got a minor flu and I bought him medicine". The stepfather smelled Jerry's breath and believed Zach as his breath smelled like mints.
The two boys went to their room. An inebriated Jerry cussed at Zach. Zach calmly dismissed this. Jerry punched Zach in a drunken rage, again Zach took this blow with patience. Jerry never thanked Zach for the way he behaved and covered for him. He never changed his ways either. Just remember karma will come get him. Zach too will be rewarded for his patience.

He wasn't a real doctor, and that was just the name he used. One day an arrogant annoying boy skipped school and told him his games were too easy. Unaffected, Dr Insidious challenged him to his own game-skull dice.

He caught a glimpse of his face reflected in the train station's platform glass barriers. The skin under his eyes were red. His eyes were tired. His hair, again, a mess. But this was Hong Kong, not a single person around him would care to notice. They had all been in his situation before. They had all appreciated being ignored in their own similar moments. He looked up at the arrival board. Just under a minute until his train arrived. Just three stops until Mei Foo, then it was time for another day.

High Rise, Deep Impact
I have witnessed a death that I relive every time I step into an elevator. Although it no longer affects me as deeply—given that it's been 11 years since the incident—it remains a heart- rending memory from my first and last day as a paramedic. My initial call to the scene involved a man who seemed to have fallen down the elevator shaft of a high-rise building. Alternatively, it might have been that the elevator moved upwards while he was working on it. Different scenarios were being considered when I arrived.
