🩸 The Day My Name Disappeared — Part 2
Last night, I wrote my name on the wall.Just to prove I still existed.I carved each letter deep, until my fingers stung. But when I woke up — the wall was clean.Smooth. White.Like I’d never touched it.I checked my reflection again.
Still there.
But something about my eyes felt… out of sync.Like they blinked a fraction too slow.Like they weren’t sure they belonged to me.I asked my little brother, “Do you know my name?”He stared at me. Smiled. And said, “You don’t have one.”He’s five. He doesn’t lie.He sees things we’ve forgotten how to see.At 3:17 a.m., I woke up to my window open.Curtains moving. And a whisper from outside:“Give it back.”My name.It wants it back. And I think I might have taken someone else’s place.
