The Dark Floor #9

"Crew! we have a new employee tonight this is Amanda she's from the other side of town and she's been coming here most of her life. Lets give a warm welcome to her, its been her deepest desire to work here at the Hotel." A small group of a team that's worked there for years claps in a very slow way almost if the energy of their claps held the sight dark under tone of this place. It was the night shift, so very few people were there to monitor the place as is. Amanda was a girl that grew up slightly interested in the paranormal. It was her dream to work at a place where she felt there was a pull towards the mystery of that realm.

Timmy was an old janitor that's work there for years, he's has his hand full of experiences at this hotel. Von was the manger that was in charge of the night crew he was the most unknowing being almost as new to the place as Amanda. He'll be the one that shows her around, the maze of the floors and darker parts of the place would be discussed as it was found. Von is a middle aged man, with dark hair and dark eye brows. His eyes are a piercing green color, he doesn't get much sleep as of late mainly due to taking on this role at the hotel. Amanda is a dirty blonde, blue eyed girl that prefers to wear black hoodies and has a punk vibe to her.

Tim heads down the halls to make his rounds, while Von asks Amanda to follow him for a mini tour before she starts her shift for the night. She's a bit nervous just because she can already feel a difference walking around with Von. From a young age Amanda has been very sensitive to the paranormal, almost as if she had seen shadows walking around before. She has learn to harness this ability to better help her understand what's really going on. Von is just an average Joe guy that doesn't really believe or is just very skeptical. After showing her the first few floors of the hotel he shows her to her work quarters, which isn't so well lit. There's a fan going because its mid summer and its very warm outside.

The hotel is located in New Mexico, near a body of water that's been charged from native American tribes that resided there a long time ago. There's some history to be had in the office space that Amanda has been shown by Von. She asks him what the back story of this place he hands her a dusty old book and smiles as he walks away.

Curious she opens it and starts to read, This place has been here for over 100 years it was repurposed from a orphanage. Built up to become the hotel it was today, bought by a greedy man in hopes to build an empire of hotels. Never to have accomplish this goal, this is the only one ever built. One of a kind, there was such a negatively charged background to this place it made clear sense to Amanda that she feels the way she has been since she walked in.

Amanda doesn't let that deter her away from starting this new position within these walls. She remembers playing video games late at night some days wishing she would have her dream job. Yes! "This is my chance to get some solid evidence and work at my favorite place!" "I've been hoping to work here for years!" Her excitement is soon to be replace with something else she brought her backpack in it is her equipment she thought she would need. She started on the 3rd floor, cleaning up what she could actively working but still staying open to the possible ghosts roaming the halls.

The promise of this experience made her so happy but nervous at the same time. She has been dreaming about this from a young age. Writing in a journal she has brought with her in hopes to record any ideas or memories she has had. She got a dizzy feeling in this floor while walking around, she jots down a few things after feeling it. Her biggest inspiration for this is her family because there wasn't much left of it. She thought maybe one day if she got enough experience she could one day contact them. As she makes her was up the stairs to another floor she remembers she needed to contact Von if she had any worries or questions.

Making a mental note she makes her way up 3 more flights of stairs. A bit tired she makes a quick snack from her back where she got her journal from. As she picks it out of her bag a tug on the back of her shirt she gets a chill up and down her spine like she never has felt before. To scared to turn around she keeps walking and considers messaging Von.

She shakily keeps stepping forward, a dark presence makes itself appear slowing on the 6th floor right as Amanda enters! She doesn't see it, what could it hold for her?? She puts down a Rem-Pod a device that detects movement, temp change, and full force grabs on the device. The darker spirit makes quick work with as she asks for something to reach out a grab it for her.

She gets so excited, thinking it might be a friendly spirit to lighten the mood. She starts asking it questions about the history to confirm it is an intelligent spirit or entity. Now so grateful to have communicated with a spirit she continues to wonder what could be waiting for her on the 9th floor. She decides to do a quick EVP session, whipping out a DR-60 a classic recorder that when it was invented it was clear to the people using it. That they could hear other things in the back round interfering with the recording. She starts to ask 3 questions with 10 secs in between to see if there would be any responses. When she begins to play it back that's when she realized she is very much not alone here on the 6th floor. She get a deep raspy voice with a bunch of scrapping sounds, she can't quite make it out.

Welcome to the 9th Floor Amanda, 369 has been a very important aspect of this she realizes. Those numbers aren't just marking the floors but the years where something has occurred in the hotel. A blast of energy hits the walls of this room filled with past events. "Is the same spirit that talked to me on the 6th floor here?!?" With her equipment already set out she wants to try a new method, before she can reach in her pocket to grab it she notices an Orb fly across the room. With a stream of light it shines and fades as fast as it appears. She felt a sense of protection at that moment, gained a bit of confidence.

What a life changing night it has made her life feel like a movie she's never seen but lived. Her last method of the night was a method called The Estes Method. Radio frequencies go through a device and words are picked up while it searches the stations. She starts by asking is this the same person she heard in the EVP. It wasn't a traditional way of doing the method but it worked for her. With a DEEP growl he speaks in such a guttural voice GET OUT!!! She screams and runs to the office off into the 7th floor meeting up with Tim the janitor. He is quite interested about what Amanda has discovered. He tells her "oh my dear this only the start of your journey" almost like a knowing that this adventure has just began.
