Susan, a middle-aged woman known for her love of cats
Jake, her new neighbor who's curious about her obsession
Sarah, Susan's friend and fellow cat lover
Setting: The hallway of their apartment building
Act 1:
Jake moves into his new apartment and hears meowing coming from next door.
He meets Susan and quickly realizes that she's a little eccentric when it comes to cats.
Sarah comes over to visit and the three of them chat about their pets.
Act 2:
Susan invites Jake and Sarah over for a "cat party" at her apartment, complete with cat-themed decorations and treats.
Jake and Sarah are a little skeptical but decide to go along with it.
They play games like "Pin the Tail on the Cat" and "Name That Breed" and try various cat treats.
Act 3:
As the night goes on, Jake and Sarah start to see Susan in a new light.
They realize that her love for cats comes from a genuine place of caring and compassion.
The three of them end up having a great time and promise to do it again soon.
End of skit.

Before I stepped through after her, I saw a little boy walk in with his mother. What's he doing here? Too young! I glanced back over my shoulder. In that second, I searched his eyes. Was there something haunting there?

Rain didn’t stop Mala. Swaddling for Edgar covered the baby boy’s body and she held her other son’s, Burton, six-year-old hand. The mud, muck, and mire didn’t hinder her from staying on course with her mission. From Pennsylvania, they all trekked to get closer and closer to land that was never promised but simply implied. Each step produced more mud caked around her sneakers. She didn’t care. Her rucksack provided them protein packs to put into plastic bottles and nuts and berries and dried meats to keep their muscles in good health. Water hydrated. She rested. The baby had been asleep the entire time that she had started her journey and her eldest son remained silent throughout the excursion as well.
