Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. The Sage Coven gathered in their desert home, their minds focused on the looming conflict with the Coven of Gold. The night was calm, but it was always the calmest before a storm.

Selena, the leader of the Sage Coven, stood on her porch and gazed out at the darkened desert landscape. She knew that the Coven of Gold was growing stronger every day, and their grip on the city was tightening. They were a powerful and wealthy group of witches who used their magic for personal gain. They had no regard for the earth or the natural world. Selena feared for the future of their city, and for the balance of magic in the world.

In a time long ago, the Sage Coven and the Coven of Gold were united in their magic. They were more than just friends, they were a family. They gathered together to share meals and celebrate the turning of the seasons, honoring the earth and their magical abilities. Their bond was strong, and their combined powers were unmatched. But as with all families, disagreements arose and loyalties were tested. The once-united coven became divided, setting the stage for a battle between good and evil.

The conflict between the Sage Coven and the Coven of Gold once-escalated into a brutal street fight on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Magic flew through the air as spells were cast and curses were hurled. The bright lights of the city were dimmed by the dark magic that hung over the scene. Tragically, not only witches fell that night, but innocent non-witches were caught in the crossfire, leading to a devastating loss of life. The Coven of Gold, with their political power and influence, used the tragedy to their advantage and banished the Sage Coven from the city. Since then, the two covens have been locked in a bitter feud. That was 20 years ago, when Selena was just a child.

As she stood in the stillness of the night, Selena sensed a shift in the air. The energy around her was charged, as if the earth was preparing for a great upheaval. She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, calling upon the spirits of the desert to guide her. The wind picked up, carrying with it the scent of sand and sagebrush. Selena smiled, feeling the power of the earth flow through her veins.

In the distance, the lights of Las Vegas twinkled like stars. Selena knew that the Coven of Gold was watching, waiting for their moment to strike. But she was ready. She had trained her coven well, and they were prepared to fight for what they believed in.

The night wore on, and the purple clouds continued to dance in the sky. Selena could feel the tension building, like a storm gathering on the horizon. She knew that they were on the brink of a great battle, one that would determine the fate of their city and their way of life. As the first rays of dawn began to creep over the mountains, Selena turned to her coven and spoke.

"We must be ready," she said. "The storm is coming, and we must be strong enough to weather it."

The other Sage Coven witches nodded in agreement, their eyes shining with determination. They knew that their fight would not be easy, but they were willing to do whatever it took to protect their way of life. And as the sun rose over the desert, casting a warm glow over the land, the witches of the Sage Coven began to prepare for the battle that was to come.
