As Claudia searched for her story on a major website, she wondered how far back her story would appear this time. She then pulled up "Top Stories" and noticed that another writer in fact, had read her work.

Claudia knew this because he stole the premise for his new story, from a story she had just written for a challenge four days ago. The known writer provided no feedback, no like, or comments, but she knew immediately he had gotten inspiration from her work.

He had stolen one of her characters; turning her "male" into a "female". He then changed the name and incorporated her thought, into his story.

As Claudia read his story, she grew enraged; he even added a "Content Warning" like she did. Well, WTF?

What really pissed Claudia off is that as usual, it was the same writer being chosen for a "Top Story". They had dismissed her story again; like many others who deserved to shine. Unpopular and unnoticed. To the naked eye, it would appear, she stole from him.

Was the website biased? Was she being shadow banned? Poor Claudia tried hard to deny it, but she realized this fraud was a Copycat. -AK

haha...this is exactly how I feel sometimes when I've sunk the tenth unread story down another competition black hole. And then I did well in one of them, and then a spammer copy&pasted my story into Amazon KDP without even bothering to change the title. If looking for new outlets, Reedsy, Globe Soup, and Writing Battle are all friendly communities with lots of feedback if you work at it.
