I got pulled over. The officer knocked on my window. I rolled it down. “I saw what you did,” he said. “I know what you want,” I said, reaching in my pocket to hand him cash. “Have a good day, sir,” he said and left. He came to my house every week for a year demanding more money. One day I shouted “I’m sick of paying you,” and slammed him with a shovel, then buried him. Later that night, there was a knock at my door. My neighbor pointed a gun at me and said “I saw what you did.”

Living in a Cave
I moved into a cave right before the war. I brought supplies to last a year, and occasionally went out for more. I had a small solar powered radio that said the war was over. I went out to explore. There were lots of corpses scattered through the woods. The city was deserted. I gathered what I could from the wreckage and started to head back to the cave when I saw a woman. “Who are you, handsome,” she asked. “Possibly the last man on earth,” I said. We saw enemy troops approaching and ran back to my cave together.

The Story of a Woodland Gator Reptile As I take a late spring, early morning walk at the edge of the woods not distant from the rivulet in southern Middletown, it feels like an extravagance to drink within the sounds of this environment. I note the reproving cackles of several blue jays within the oaks. They show up to be troubled at the location of a combine of crows as they close the jay's homes. To differentiate the cacophony over, the smooth sounds of the river welcome me to come closer. As I arrive at a clearing, a Timberland Gator Lizard is sitting as still as a stone within the daylight. This is often the moment I have seen this month! Needing to observe this slippery and long-bodied animal I step ever closer. Each step I take could be a supplication:
