The boy with the pink dragon

Never give up hope

The boy with the pink dragon.

Blood is thicker than water, but a dragon’s bond is solid…

Talon opened his eyes, blood was trickling down the side of his neck, he was injured so badly, he could not even stretch his long and massive grey wings. Confused, he tried to recall the events that took place before he got here but it was a haze. Around him, everything was on fire: forests flickered in the distance as mountain peaks emitted thick toxic fumes into the sunset air. Ahead of him was a small town that seems to have suffered the worst of what had happened. All the houses were destroyed and ablaze, with corpses, either charred or flattened, splayed across the ground; casualties of the dragons’ fight. Talon rests his head from the pain, he stares back at the town and could see a woman holding a child walking very slowly towards his path, with each step it seemed like agony for her.

Suddenly Talon started to recall some of the events in bursts., He was with about 12 other dragons preparing to battle Luther, an evil dragon that feeds off pain and suffering of all that is living, whether to rule, to eat, or just kill, causing the entire world to hate and hunt dragons with prejudice and anger. He remembered getting ambushed, and his dear friend for over five centuries being killed in battle. He could see two tunnel dragons bursting from the ground beneath Saffron and grabbing onto his blue friend. One of the tunnel dragons, which are smaller than average-sized dragons, aimed for Saffron’s face, digging its massive claws into his eye socket before dragging his skull down, the other jumped onto Saffron’s neck and clawed its way through the neck and disappeared into the ground. Saffron died... Talon roared with anger and told his allies to attack.

Talon flinched at the memory of his friend dying and was overwhelmed with sadness. He took a deep breath, as he watched the woman with the child slowly inching closer, now he saw she had tears in her eyes as she clutched her child, and she was saying something, but he couldn't hear just yet.

More memories were flashing in his mind now: dragons were fighting left and right, fireballs pierced through the clouds leaving trials of black smoke behind them. Each fireball that hit the ground left a devastating crater that rippled through the mountains and forests. It looked like a volcano had just erupted, leaving molten lava spreading everywhere. Dragon saliva found in a fireball can burn for over thirty hours before going out, and the huge cloud of toxic black smoke and ash was bound to kill any living thing in the area.

Talon tried to get up, but his massive body was still too injured to move. He notices that he is bleeding from a very long and deep cut on his chest, and another memory flashes, this time he is fighting Luther above the clouds. Luther’s strength was always greater than his or any of the dragons on his side. Talon believed in living peacefully among all the living, not harming anyone and feeding off the land, but Luther wanted to rule anything his eyes landed on, killing everyone in his path. He clashed with Luther to try to end the battle swiftly but was losing to Luther’s strength. Luther came with almost three times as many dragons as Talon, he was outnumbered. Another dragon coming to the aid of Luther joining their attack. His last memory was a fireball with the impact of ten fiery tree trunks that hit him in the chest from Luther. The searing pain paralyzed Talon’s body as he began to fall towards the ground blacking in and out. He could hear Luther laughing, “Never get in my way again with your stupid peaceful resolution. Go home lizard, I shall never attack father’s resting place, stay there and keep your head down, you won't be so lucky next time brother.”

Talon fell through the blue sky as it turned to white clouds and then the overpowering black smoke from the fires below, falling faster and faster each second until he crashed on the outskirts of the nearby farm town.

“Retreat, Retreat,” Talon could hear one of his dragons yell.

Talon was laying on the ground, defeated by the damage caused by his older brother, distraught that his friends had to die for his cause. Talon was about to close his eyes when he sees the woman holding the little child in her arms was very close now, he could hear what she was saying.

“Please god, don’t harm my only child, let him live god, please I beg you, save my son, you showed me, you showed me he is destined for greatness, you showed me Adam with a pink…”

The woman walked a few steps past Talon, not even noticing him lying on the ground watching. Talon could see the woman from behind now, her back was burnt, all black and charred, blood trickling down her body from everywhere. Before she could finish her sentence, she fell forward, dying and trapping her child under her. Adam was crying, trapped by his deceased mother’s weight, he was still too weak to push her off.

Talon summoned his remaining energy and got up, feeling a sense of responsibility for the crying child, he will die here without my help he thought. The battle was clearly lost and over, it was time to retreat. Talon gently moved the mother from on top of Adam and carefully picked up the crying child. Talon then turned to the mother and breathed a very calm flame at her, turning her to ash, as the wind picked up the ash flying towards the horizon he whispered, “I’m sorry for what my kind has done to yours, I hope this helps you ease your mind before going to the next life, I will see to it your son has a full life.”

Talon then spread his wings and flew towards his homeland, a three hour flight back to Drabaka. Drabaka is a beautiful island, full of nature and plants everywhere, in the middle was a giant volcano, tunneled through with giant rooms and hallways, a treasury that stretched as far as the eye could see, with magnificent pillars holding the place. Dragons have lived on the Island for over 1000 centuries. During the early ages dragons traded with the dwarf race, half of the gold the dragons had was what was given, today the treasury is filled with even more gold, jewelry, weapons from battles and all sorts of priceless items. A river runs outside of the volcano and around the island, making it a home for other animals and creatures and, of course, home to many dragons.

Talon flew to the common area on the Island where most of the dragons were already there, all of them sad for the lost ones from the battle, comforting each other. Talon placed Adam on the ground, he has not stopped crying since their arrival. Talon looked around at all the dragons, their spirits were down and many faces were missing. Talon hated his brother, but he was more upset with himself for causing this loss and for being unable to prevent it.

“What’s it saying?” asked one of the dragons, annoyed by the baby’s screams.

“He is not saying anything, he is just crying,” replied Talon

“Talon, Talon, one of the eggs are glowing in the treasury,” Aries came bursting into the common area, he was the oldest, wisest, and longest living dragon on the island.

“What do you mean glowing Aries?” asked Talon

“The pink egg, it’s glowing, that’s never happened before,” replied Aries.

“That cannot be, those eggs have been here before this island was discovered,” said Talon

“I thought they were just decorative at this point, come see it,” Aries said.

The dragons made their way toward the treasury, the hallways echoing with Adams cries. Upon entering the treasury, the dragons made their way to the center of the giant room, passing by mountains of treasure and gold. They arrived at a rather unique chest that lay open. It was embellished with gold and rubies and inside was a pile of hay, three special and rare eggs laid there. A glistening pearl egg, that showed one’s reflection when looking at it., an invisible egg, the only way to tell it’s there is the indent the egg made on the hay, and if you touch it you can feel it, and last was the pink egg that was now rattling back and forth and glowing.

“I think the little guy is ready to hatch,” Talon said with excitement in his voice.

The pink egg started to hatch, out came the head of a beautiful pink dragon, the dragon looked around and out came the rest of his body. The pink dragon leaped out of the chest and landed in front of Talon and the other dragons; it was about the size of a full grown cat. The pink dragon stretched his legs, then his beautiful tail with tiny inward claws at the tip of the tail, then extended its wonderful wings and roared.

“Well how about that, this little guy is tough, I can feel it,” Talon chuckled in disbelief.

“I honestly thought they were duds,” said Aries amazed by the little dragon.

The little pink dragon could hear the wails of Adam from down the hall and rushed past the dragons, running under some of the bigger ones, he climbed a giant hill of gold coins instead of taking the path. At the top he took note of his surroundings and jumped to the bottom, using his wings to glide just a little bit before stumbling to the floor.

“Umm where is he going,” wondered Aries.

“Let’s follow.” Talon replied intrigued.

The little pink dragon dashed through the long hallways, jumping on the walls at turns and gliding back down, rushing all the way to the little boy who was crying. The pink dragon took a deep breath and blew out a gentle pink flame that engulfed the crying boy.

“He’s hungry, he is cooking up the little boy,” said one of the dragons watching.

Adam stopped crying, his eyes lit up and was smiling, he stretched out his hands and stared as the pretty pink fire ran through his fingers. His hair slowly turned from black to pink, his iris also turned into a mesmerizing pink color as well.

“I can’t believe my eyes, he is bonding with the child,” said Talon in disbelief “I heard about this as a child, but I thought it was a myth!”

“The last dragon to bond with someone else was nearly 250 thousand years ago,” said Aries in amazement.

The little pink dragon circled the now calm and tired Adam and laid down beside him. Adam still staring at the dragon in awe yawned and finally fell asleep while cuddling his new best friend.

Talon filled with astonishment, asked one of the dragons nearby to cook some food for the human and the new dragon. “What do you make of this Aries, you have been very quiet through all of this.”

“I thought I’d seen it all Talon, I’m the oldest dragon I know, and I must admit, I have seen more today than I have seen in the last 1000 years. I saw you walk in with that boy, you were miserable, everyone was, we lost many good lives today, your brother’s heart is filled with rage, and sadly he is one of the strongest dragons to this day. It seemed like all hope was lost. But on that same day you bring a child, which has never happened before on this island, then one of the rarest eggs hatches, and a dragon has bonded for the first time since a quarter million years ago. This, my friend, is a seed of hope, telling us not to give up, not to lose sight of what we stand for, that even on our darkest day there is still light, even if this light is tiny today, our job is to nurture, train and pass down our wisdom so that in time this tiny light of hope can illuminate even the darkest of times with ease.”

“I see what you’re saying, but how can one child and one dragon make such a big difference. My brother’s army grows bigger, he has many loyal allies and the rest of them fearing my brother’s wrath join and fight for him, how can we keep up?” said Talon.

“Don’t be so pessimistic Talon. Actually, I can prove to you that this small ripple today will become the biggest of waves one day, follow me to my room.”

Aries lead the way for Talon to follow through the very large tunnels into his room. It was a large room with walls made of stone and four large pillars holding the room together. A hoard of treasure and gold filled the dark room.

Aries moved to the back of the room and retrieved a large glass ball. The glass ball had different moons in different stages floating around with tiny white clouds hovering inside. Aries took a deep breath and blew a small stream of flame toward the glass ball. The moons inside the glass ball began to move in a circle changing into different stages as they moved. Slowly, the moons moved closer into each other, the clouds blocked the cluster, and the ball slowly grew bigger and bigger and, in an instant, became larger than the room. Everything vanished before both dragons’ very eyes, they were now floating in the clouds inside the ball.

“What’s happening Aries?” Talon asked very confused.

“Let us take a look into the future Talon,” said Aries

The clouds began to move away from both dragons, they were now floating not too far from the outside of Drabaka, but now it was destroyed. Most of the nature on the island was on fire, black smoke from the fire was everywhere and many dragons of Drabaka were injured on the ground, some dead. Luther’s dragons were flying around and breathing fire on anything and anyone, destroying all life on the island.

“What is this Aries? Is this our future? This ball is showing us that we will lose everything.”

Aries stood silent, a little disappointed that their fate was dark, he gazed with sadness at the destruction of his home.

“That’s me over there.” muttered Talon

Talon was watching himself fight his older brother. Once again, his brother had the upper hand. Luther was so much stronger, bigger and angrier than last time. Luther whipped his tail at Talon’s chest, knocking him to the ground.

“Oh brother, you are pathetic. I would have let this island thrive, you think I take pride in destroying the place I grew up in? Where our parents grew up!?” He stormed at Talon pointing with his wing at their surroundings. “I would have let you live peacefully if you just kept to yourself, but you started bonding a dragon behind my back and kept that hidden for 25 years,” Luther roared as he unleashed a fireball at Talon.

“How do you think that made me feel, to know after all these years of peace I gave you, you train one of the legendary dragons and his pet. Did you think I would not notice or hear about it, you stupid lizard? Look at you crawling like one,” Luther mocked Talon and whipped his giant tail at him.

“Well, where is it? Show me the reason why this island is destroyed, where is your sad excuse for a trump card?” mocked Luther.

Luther took a deep breath aiming at his brother and blew a fireball hitting Talon in his wing. Talon tried to get up but another fireball hit him, and another, then three or four at a time, they just kept coming.

“I’ll set you free from your sad life, this is where you die brother.” Luther said, he took a huge breath, aimed at him, closed his eyes and unleashed his longest and strongest fire blast ever, the fire engulfed all of Talon. Past Talon watched with tears as he heard himself roar in pain.

Just then, the fire stopped a few feet ahead of Talon, a pink haired man stood in front of him with one arm stretched out pulling in the flames into his hand. Luther finally stopped breathing fire and opened his eyes.

“What the…” Luther says confused, but before he can finish the pink haired man shoots back Luther’s fire but with a cool pink twist to it making Luther fly back.

“Now Mr. Pink,” shouted Adam. While Luther was still in the air a giant pink dragon flew down bursting through the clouds coming down at an incredible speed and kicked Luther in the chest making him smash into the ground. Mr. Pink flew back and landed next to Adam letting out a vicious roar and blew a fireball at Luther. Luther whipped his tail at the pink fireball sending it to a tree, the tree explodes upon impact and pink fire was sprinkled on all the debris.

Luther began laughing, “That was not bad for a surprise attack, but a pink dragon? I, am to be scared of a pink dragon? Hahaha, so this is it, an untrained pink dragon and his pet have come to save you? This is too funny, and here I thought you were onto something, what a waste of time this has been.”

“You should be scared of Mr. Pink, don’t judge a book by its cover, and I’m not alone, I have backup,” said Adam.

What past Talon does not know is that Adam left Drabaka at the age of 15 to start his own adventures with Mr.pink, and during those adventures he made many friends and has built his own crew to roam the lands with.

Just then a Warlock named Velyar dressed in fancy blue robes who specialized in water powers teleported himself into the island. Velyar has the ability to teleport himself and others to places he has been to or, like this situation, tether with Adam, and teleport to Adam’s destination.

Velyar began to hover as he chanted in an ancient language. Dark clouds began to emerge as the winds picked up. There was a large crackling noise as the clouds starting pouring heavy rain putting out the fires. He looked down and pointed his hand towards the ground teleporting in a beautiful elf with white hair. Alisaie was wearing green elven clothes and looked rather irritated, “took you long enough, we were all tired of waiting at the tavern.”

Alisaie, looked at the damage done to the island, “I can fix this but you owe me one of these” she said pointing at the small vile she was wearing as a necklace.

“What is that?” asked Adam.

“Well, I can grow back the trees and grass and get the nature back on this island but alone, it would take days if not weeks. With this vile, I can finish this whole island in about 10 minutes.”

“I will personally see to it that you get everything you need,” promised Adam.

Alisaie started digging a hole in the ground and emptied the vile into it, she then covered it up and placed her hand on the ground chanting in elvish. Within minutes, grass began to grow and spread fast. Damaged trees were miraculously recovering, and elvish plants and flowers were sprouting.

The warlock then aimed his hand at the mountain, teleporting in an ancient immortal god named Ronin. Ronin, a master of swords and the holder of two of the most ancient swords, was one of the first 10 gods to ever walk this earth. Many gods feared him for his strength and decided to neutralize him. By the time Ronin caught wind of the news, he was ambushed. Because he was immortal, the gods took away his wings that help him fly through galaxies and trapped him in a ruby to be cast into the desert, forgotten over time. Millions of years later, Adam, on one of his adventures, accidentally freed him, and they became good friends and offered his assistance to Adam whenever he needed it.

“Finally, took you long enough Adam, I never fought a dragon before,” Ronin said pulling out his swords and running for the first dragon he saw, he jumped into the air and with 3 quick slices Ronin slashed a dragon by the neck and decapitated it.

The warlock aimed his hand again near Ronin and a very large, and rather fat man by the name of Grizzman teleported onto the mountain. He was holding a giant BBQ hippo leg and was eating it while waiting. Grizzman took one last big bite then began to neatly take off his shirt and pants and folds them, placing them by a tree, leaving only his boxers on. Grizzman walked out into the open and looked up to the moon before transforming into a giant and scary Grizzly bear/human hybrid. He then began to run on all fours and leaped onto a tall tree to climb. Once Grizzman reached the top of the tree he leaped off onto a flying dragon, digging his massive claws into the dragon's back, then biting off the dragon’s left wing making it lose balance and fall towards the ground. Grizzman began to demolish the poor dragon, he looked up and smiled wickedly shouting, “Oh my god you guys, dragon meat tastes amazing!” Then ran off to chase another dragon.

The warlock then moves his hand to another part of the mountain and teleports the rest of the team,

An angel with large iridescent wings in white and gold robes named Raphael appears laying on his back with a demon fox goddess atop of him wearing an oversized orange and white kimono. She had two fox ears, long thick red hair and a long and lush red tail. Kumiho was wearing an oversized orange and white Kimono. Raphael and Kumiho realized they were in the battlefield and jumped off each other startled, “you guys took quite a while, we, umm, thought we had more time” said Kumiho blushing a little. Kumiho had a backpack/demon portal that only she can touch safely. Anyone else would get sucked into the demon realm. A cute black and purple fox with three tails jumps out of her bag and stands next to her.

“There you are Tails,” Kumiho said excitedly after seeing her pet fox.

She glances up and spots an evil dragon, she reaches into her backpack without removing it and pulls out a sleek black rifle. She readies her rifle and takes aim at an evil dragon and fires three rounds, two of them hitting the wings and one going straight through the neck, leaving dark demonic lines that spread through and around the wounds. The dragon begins to fall to the ground. Kumiho’s fox grows bigger and more ferocious looking and takes off. Before the dragon could hit the ground, Tails was already clawing and biting at it.

“Woohoo, that’s my girl! I swear you’re so hot when you kill my love” said Raphael in utter awe.

“I thought you were against killing, since, you know, you’re an angel?” Said Kumiho.

“It’s different when you do it my love. You don’t see the beautiful butterflies that fly out of the dragon from your bullets!” said Raphael.

“Do you mean the blood?” Kumiho asked a little confused.

“They are smiling my love,” said Raphael close to tearing up, he then spreads his wings and begins to fly.

Raphael flies around the mountain. While flying, his feathers fall from his wings drifting to all the injured dragons and animals slowly healing them. The feathers would fall hollow shaft first right into whoever was injured like a needle, then the vane is the first to shrink into the rachis and like liquid, enters the body through the hollow shaft healing any type of injury or wound. Then, after the feather goes next into the rachis, then both the rachis and the after feather go into the body providing them with vitamins, minerals and nutrients acting like a booster shot.

“Adam, where is Grandpa Talon?” shouted Raphael.

“Um Adam, why is that angel calling me Grandpa?” Asked Talon

“Right here Raphael,” Adam replied then faced Talon “I told him how old you are and that you raised me, so he thinks we are related.”

“But you’re a human…?” Talon said happily seeing how well Adam was doing.

“Grandpa Talon,” shouted Raphael “You’re massive, woow”

Raphael glided towards them and waved his wing at Talon. Several feathers flew out and hit different parts of Talon’s body healing all his burn wounds and injuries.

“I feel so much better, what magic is this?” Talon said feeling much better. “My shoulder and wow, even my neck pain is gone. That had nothing to do with the fight, that’s amazing.”

“I am the greatest healer you will ever meet,” replied the satisfied angel.

An evil speed dragon flew straight to Luther and whispered something to him.

“Excellent,” smiled Luther. Luther looked around and could see his brother actually had a fighting chance. “Dragons, our mission is finished for the time, fly out,” Luther ordered.

Luther looked at his brother “Time well spent lizard, but this is far from over. I shall see you again real soon, and I will kill all your precious creatures before your very eyes. Then, I will kill you,” Luther took off and flew away.

As Luther and his dragons flew away, Kumiho took aim with her rifle at a far dragon.

“No way babe, I can't even see them anymore,” said Raphael in disbelief.

“Tails,” Kumiho shook her bag on her back, Tails moved behind her and put his head in her backpack/portal and came back out with binoculars, then wagging all 3 tails handed them to Raphael.

“I urghh…” Raphael said trying his best to spot any of the dragons. Tails uses one of his tails and nudges the binoculars to the dragon Kumiho is going to shoot.

“There we go, thanks Tails. Holy rivers and ponds that’s so far, what is that? 15 km? said Raphael in excitement.

“No way she will make it,” said Grizzman in disbelief, joining the group with Ronin.

“13 km, but I’ll wait till 15 for you my love” said Kumiho smiling, no one made her smile and feel so good about herself but Raphael. Demon matter started flying out of her bag, around her, and into her bullet chamber forming a very powerful long-range bullet, then she fired when her target reached 15 km.

“Ha, Woohooo, you got it, you’re so amazing” Raphael said knowing she was going to make it from the start.

“I did not kill it” she said feeling a little upset.

Luther flew then paused mid-air and turned around, he looked directly at Past Talon’s eyes then said “Stop playing with dad’s toys,” Luther then shoots a fireball right at Past Talon. Past Talon stood frozen not sure how his brother could see him. As soon as the fireball hit him, he and Aries returned to Aries’s room. The glass ball shattered in front of them never to be used again.

“Your brother’s strength always surprises me, the power you must have to spot a watcher through a glass orb is profound. But as you can see Talon, our future is bright thanks to this tiny seed of hope we have today.” Stated Aries.

“Indeed, it is Aries. Indeed it is,” said Talon feeling better after seeing a glimpse of the future.

Extended Trailer:

Inside the chambers of a giant volcano, far away from Drabaka lies the base of Luther, Luther was angry smashing everything in his way. He stormed around enraged at what had transpired. All the other dragons were hiding in far corners of the volcano or outside, fearful of his rage.

Three dragons entered the chambers, Luther’s second-in-command and two speed dragons, one of the dragons was injured in the back with a bullet hole made with black demonic lines spreading across his back.

“Show them to me,” Luther demanded.

The uninjured speed dragon pulls out the pearl egg from his satchel, and carefully hands it over to Luther. Luther examines the priceless egg and smiles; he then stretches his hand out for the next egg.

“Master, they shot me midflight,” said the scared injured dragon.

“What are you trying to tell me?” Luther was beginning to fill with rage again.

“…W well the egg fell, it fell, and I went to look for it. I swear I looked for the egg, but it’s invisible my lord, I could not find,” said the dragon trembling with fear, but before the injured dragon could finish his sentence, Luther’s tail flew directly into his mouth, down his throat stopping in the middle of his heart.

Luther picked up the dead dragon with his tail and threw him into the lava watching him burn to the bones and sink. If he was still alive, he could have swum, but dead dragons combust.

Luther looked directly at the two dragons, “Get me that wretched egg now,” he shouted.

“Yes! Yes, my lord.” Both dragons said in fear and ran out of the chambers.
