The Bog at the Edge of the World
And other Sphagnum tales
There's a bog at the edge of the world where only frogs dare to go.
At least, that’s what the legends say.
To be fair, the legends also say that witches steal into your home and eat your babies, that swamp monsters lie in wait to wreck boats, and that you must wear something red while in the forest to ward off malicious fairies.
But I happen to know some very nice vegetarian witches and fairies who like the color red, and I have never once wanted to wreck a boat, though I’ve been a swamp monster all my life.
