The flight was meant to be a routine trip, but from the moment the plane took off, something felt off. The air felt heavy, and the passengers were quiet, as if holding their breath.

Samantha had chosen a window seat towards the back of the plane, hoping to get some work done on her laptop during the flight. But as soon as she opened her laptop, she felt a strange presence behind her. She turned around and saw a man sitting a few rows behind her, staring at her with dark, unblinking eyes.

Samantha shuddered and turned back to her laptop, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. She tried to distract herself by reading a book, but she found herself reading the same paragraph over and over again, unable to focus.

The flight attendants began to move up and down the aisle, their faces tense. Samantha watched them, wondering what was going on. She felt a jolt of fear run through her when she saw that the man with the dark eyes was still staring at her.

She tried to ignore him, but she could feel his gaze on her back. She felt a sense of dread wash over her. What did he want?

Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the plane shook violently. Samantha's laptop flew off her lap, and she grabbed onto the armrests, her knuckles turning white. The man with the dark eyes didn't even flinch.

The flight attendants rushed past her, their faces pale. One of them whispered something to the captain, and Samantha saw his face turn grim.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are experiencing some turbulence," the captain said over the intercom. "Please fasten your seatbelts and remain calm."

Samantha could hear the fear in his voice, and she felt a sense of panic rising in her chest. She looked around at the other passengers, and she could see that they were all feeling the same thing.

As the turbulence continued, Samantha couldn't help but feel that it was getting worse. The plane felt like it was being tossed around like a toy. She could hear people screaming, and the man with the dark eyes was still staring at her.

She felt like she was going to lose her mind. Was this some kind of nightmare? She closed her eyes and tried to take deep breaths, but the fear was overwhelming.

And then, suddenly, it all stopped. The plane was still, and there was silence. Samantha opened her eyes and looked around, confused.

But then she saw the man with the dark eyes. He was standing in the aisle, his body contorted in a way that should have been impossible. His eyes were glowing, and Samantha could see something moving under his skin.

She screamed and tried to run, but she was trapped in her seat. The other passengers were screaming too, and the flight attendants were trying to calm them down, but Samantha knew it was too late.

The man with the dark eyes started to move towards her, and she could see that his skin was starting to peel away, revealing something else underneath.

And then everything went black.

When Samantha woke up, she was still on the plane. But everything was different. The seats were torn apart, and the other passengers were nowhere to be seen. She looked out the window and saw that they were no longer in the air.

They were flying through a dark, swirling void.

Samantha screamed and tried to open the emergency exit, but it wouldn't budge. She was trapped. And then she heard a voice behind her.

"Welcome to the other side," the man with the dark eyes said, his voice cold and distant. "You're going to be here for a long time."

Cool. Makes me want to know what happened and what's going to happen next!. More clues in the story, such as the background of the protagonist, or something happening in the world, would be great to get the reader thinking of the cause of all that happened ... setting the stage, so to speak - Anneliese
