Her hair was very short with a slight curl and deep, dark brown with red highlights. The hair style made her look very youthful. Emerald green eyes shaped like marbles. High cheek bones and natural dark peach color lips. Her body was strong athletic with a slight bulge in her arm muscles. She usually wore slacks that fit just right and not too provocative. Her breast medium size just enough to notice however not too much to take away from her face.

When she passed, she smelled of a slight hint of lemon just enough to bring freshness to any room or area she entered. Small hoop earrings and a gold necklace with an ankh sign hanging from it. No bling for her. A modern woman however a practical one. She never dressed in outlandish fads or wore any clothing that did not compliment her frame. Serious minded however playful and witty at the same time. Sometimes if the right guy caught her eye, she may flirt with those huge round green eyes of hers.

I noticed her from across the street as she crossed at the traffic light. Mesmerized by her every move. I pretended not to see her as she passed me once clear of my bench my eyes followed her until I could not see her anymore. Just like she never ever appeared. Finishing my sandwich and cup of soup I packed up to return to my office. Another routine day at work sorting and delivering the mail for the one hundred of so executive’s and other support staff in the 1000 Building.

As I began my usual delivery of the mail, I could not believe my eyes it’s her in the office of my immediate supervisor Ms. Lynn. She could not be an applicant we have no openings in the mail department. Who is she? How does she know Ms. Lynn? My mind raced with excitement as I try to figure out who she was and why she was here in my department. As I came close to Ms. Lynn’s office, I noticed I had a package for her. Now what? Calm down you must be cool. As I entered the door “Hi Rod,” Ms. Lynn said to me. Whoa she never spoke to me before specially to call me by name.

Rod this is Grace Smith from the Audit One company. She is the reviewer for our efficiency report this year. Grace, Rod is one of our most efficient mailroom employees. Everything you need to know about delivering mail in this building he knows it and how to do it proficiently. In fact, Rod you are about 10 minutes early today. “Ms. Lynn, we have a light mail load”, says Rod. “Nice to meet you,” says Grace to Rod. Her voice sounds like an angel. “Rod tomorrow you will be escorting Grace around the building,” Ms. Lynn tells him. She will be observing what you do for the annual efficiency audit. Oh no! (Rod says to himself), I will have to act like I do not want to fawn all over her for eight whole hours. She will ask me questions; I will have to talk to her this can’t be happening to me! Grace you can meet Rod in the mailroom tomorrow about 8:30 am.

Rod, whew that was not easy having to pretend to be calm and all professional around her. I finished my route about 4:15 we have 15 minutes left in our shift. Everyone buzzing about the efficiency audit tomorrow. Ms. Lynn has sent an email to everyone in the department reminding us to be at our best. “No locker room talk.” It is posted on the restroom doors in plain sight for all to see. Our department is about 50% women however it is not like it used to be long time ago when only men talked about weekend exploits with women and how they thought the secretaries on the upper floors must have been recruited from a modeling agency. All of them are so pretty and hot! Many of the women some gay can talk just as much trash talk as the men. In fact, I have left the area a lot because these women can be so explicit about what they did over the weekend. Plus, the gay women really make me blush taking about how they used their strap-on to make a “B” scream and cum.

At home I am practicing how not to let Grace know how attractive I think she is and how smitten I am by her. Ms. Lynn will have a fit and get me booted right out of the company if I mess up tomorrow on any level. This reminds me we were asked to dress more professional than we have been recently. Shirts with ties or blouses button up to the base of the neck. Our bottom attire is not to form fitting slacks or skirts. No “Bling,” or extreme hair styles or nail designs for anyone. If in doubt Ms. Lynn posted to come and speak with her. She fired a female employee for coming to work with London Lilac colored hair recently.

As I ponder over what to have for dinner telling myself not to eat anything too spicy or that has garlic or onions in it due to not wanting to have stomach gas or to belch. Since I will be talking a lot, I do not want to embarrass myself or the company in front of a guest. Grace must be older than I think since she is in such a high-level position. She must be really smart and efficient at what she does. It is time to get my clothes ready for my day with Grace Smith tomorrow.

Ms. Lynn talking to Grace, Rod is usually 15-20 minutes early arriving for work. He will be ready to have you shadow him tomorrow. Rod is up for a promotion to mailroom supervisor next quarter. He has been with us four years; perfect attendance record and all of his quarterly reviews have been excellent. He takes the job seriously. He is funny, easy to talk to and loyal. I wish I had a dozen more like him. He treats being a mailroom delivery person the same way many CEOs take their positions.

It is 8:10 am I start at 8:30 am she (Grace) will probably be here in a few minutes. Speak of her she is entering the building now. Wow she is a vision of beauty wearing a turquoise suit (with skirt) an expensive gold hoop earrings and pin on her jacket. “Good morning, Rod,” says Grace! Good morning, Grace, Rod replies!” Do you need any water or anything Grace? No Rod let’s get started. I start at the top floors and work down this way the top executives get their mail first and can handle any calls coming in from the lower floors and outside entities. “Very smart Rod,” Grace says.

We will be using the service elevator and will need to make one stop before we reach Floor 100 to switch elevators. Rod hits floor 50 on the panel next to the elevator door. As he goes up stopping at almost every floor several people speak to him and he exchanges pleasantries with them. Grace mentions to Rod, “I see you are popular here.” Rod reply, “Grace I have been here almost five years and people know me.”

We are on the top floor of the building the first place I go to is the reception desk of CEO Weller, Nell his receptionist takes all the mail, and she actually delivers it to each VP, etc. This way my cart is not in the hallway for anyone to run or walk into. People on this floor are known to race from their offices. Mr. Weller keeps them on their toes and hopping around like rabbits.

You see, I must get the mail to them and at the same time be almost invisible. As you notice I stay to the right of the hall with just enough space so if someone comes out of their office in a hurry and I am there we do not collide. I try to have at least three quarters of the morning mail delivered before lunch. This helps when the afternoon mail arrives. Most of it is special delivery from outside the building and very important responses to various departments inside the building.

Well, it is almost 4 pm and we have finished Grace you have seen the average day of a mailroom delivery person. To most people my job is boring and very routine. However, if not done properly the whole operation of this business could be in jeopardy. Since I have been here, we have not had any major slip ups or messing mail. This is something to take pride in doing this job. Grace tells Rod “I have enjoyed meeting you and seeing what you do for this company.” Ms. Lynn should be very appreciative of what you do and the pride in which you take on your task.

Grace is speaking to Anne you were right about him he does not see his position as mail clerk as a boring or so-so position. He is aware of how people move, makes sure he is not in the way and is very pleasant to be around. Almost everyone we encountered spoke to him and some exchanged very brief and polite conversation. He is going to make a great supervisor. Ms. Lynn says to Grace “you did not let him know you were my niece, did you?” Of course, not Anne Grace replies.

Rod is leaving the building and notices that Grace has changed clothes since he saw her earlier. She is wearing a jogging suit and has a sweat band on her head. He watches as she sprints at a very fast pace. I wonder how old she is mid 20s or older? Rod says to himself. He smiles and dreams about going on a date with her.
