The sky turned dark as the sun set and the creatures fled. They ran and they flew as fast as they could to get away from Crab-Dragon who had just arrived at Terminal 7 for the very first time. ‘It’s quiet around here’ Crab-Dragon thought to himself, but he did not mind.

Crab-Dragon was happy to be alone; he had achieved his goals, he had travelled across miles of human-infested land. He had risked it all to be here and nothing could ruin it now. Being alone was all he knew – for who would want to be friends with a beast from the waters nothing dared to cross? But he wasn’t like the other creatures from the darkness; he was kind and he was so utterly completely full of joy.

He got to spend the day in the place he had only ever dreamed about visiting and nothing and no one would be able to bring him down. At Terminal 7 he was surrounded by the abandon of human destruction; machinery and metal no longer wanted by those who brought it to this earth. Set within this backdrop of urbanity he felt at home. As he frolicked in the Terminal he was content, for it had been his dream to explore this barren wasteland for as long as he could remember.

As he slowly pulled himself across the Terminal; his new found playground, climbing the metal structures one methodical step at a time he pondered how long it would be before the humans came back and tried to use their death machines to end his life-long dream. He knew when that time came it would all be over in a second.

The creatures from the underground shook as the weight from this monster above threatened their nests. Even the Night Owls kept one eye open a their nocturnal minds fought sleep. acThey huddled together waiting for this giant storm to pass. For fear was all they felt and survival was all they knew. This creature was not to be messed with and hiding was all they could do. All they could see was his great big claws, for they did not know him, not truly.

As Crab-Dragon disembarked from his obstacle course, he looked around to admire the view. He was expecting to feel the joy that he had searched for for an eternity – the ecstasy you only find a handful of times in a lifetime. Instead tears started to fall from his eyes. One after another they fell down his cheeks. As he cried all he felt was an overwhelming sadness as he understood he was at the top of his world – but he was all alone. He had no one to share his joy with. Crab-Dragon had never before felt lonely, but here he was feeling despair like never before and his heart broke for himself.

As the other creatures of terminal 7 watched him they finally understood him. They understood his sadness. They were no longer afraid. Down they climbed from their nests and their hiding places. They joined together in the puddle of Crab-Dragon’s tears as they climbed onto his back one by one. They sat with him in comfort and waited for his crying to stop. And as he felt their love, the clouds over his head began to lift. He felt his joy come back. His sun was shining again. He knew they were with him and he felt no longer alone.

They all worked together and built him his own den so that when the humans came; when the sky lit right back up again, he would remain undiscovered. This outsider became an insider as they decided the arrival of Crab-Dragon at Terminal 7 was what they needed to make their home completete.
