The Adventure of Joshua "The Traveler" into the Magical Forest

Start writing...One morning, while Joshua was walking to his school his friend Angelo startled him. His friend ask him if he wants to go with him to their province and take a vacation to this incoming end of semester. Joshua thinks that it is a good idea to take some unwind after the exhausting class works they had done through the semester.

Weeks past and finally the two decided to travel to Angelo's province. Joshua was excited and amazed to the environment he saw. As usual, the surrounding was actually full of trees and rice field. After a while, the driver said that they are near to their destination. While looking to the window of the bus, Joshua was suddenly intrigue to a certain point of the forest. He was confused because amidst in the straight noon, fireflies can be seen on one of the trees in the forest. This tree is actually huge and has a large hole wherein a person can fit inside. Joshua still thinking about the tree and decided not to tell it with his friend.

The two finally arrived and Angelo's grandparents greeted them. Joshua was really amused to the foods they had given to them. In the middle of the night, when Joshua was taking a rest, a voice suddenly startled him. He rush to the window and saw a beautiful woman. The other individuals in the house was sleeping that time, so he walks quite to get out of the house. The beautiful woman is still calling him and he cannot remember why he was already in the huge tree after a while of walking. Because of curiosity he decided to enter to the large hole of the tree. As he enter to the tree, a bright beam of light struck his face. He close his eyes because of so much lights. After a while, the light suddenly disappeared and now he is in the other world.

He again startled to a small voice calling and poking him. He then saw a small being with unusual face. The small being ask him if he comes from this world because his smells really different from others. Joshua thinks immediately without panicking and he answered, "It is non of your business dirty creature!". The small being is a bit shocked and decided to walked away. After a while Joshua saw that his outfit is changed. He then now have a gold shirt and pants and also gold boots. It is really a different experience to Joshua. Joshua saw the place really different from the outside world. Individuals are different because their physical characteristics are such beyond the imagination in the real world.

While he was walking a group of individuals are rushing and he almost hit by someone with a body of centipede. The guy saw him and suddenly decided to stop. The centipede guy shouted, “Everyone! Attention! Did you see this guy? He seems a bit lost. I don't see any magical powers within him. I guess he is one of the lonely creatures with whom prefer to become one of my slaves! But before that let's just play first. If you will defeat me, I will give you a reward or any wish, but if I will defeat you, you will become my slave forever!!! Hahahaha". The crowd shouted with amusement and gathered together in one place. Joshua then saw the slaves in the cart with chains full of bruises.

Meanwhile, Joshua was a bit confused of the situation but he decided to go with the flow of situation. Suddenly a guy gave him a bow and set of arrows. There some a guy who decided to be a referee which will serve as also the announcer of the winner. The announcer called the centipede guy and suddenly stops when he was the one to be called. The announcer ask him his name and Joshua was deciding if he will give his name or not. Joshua said that he is just a traveler. Then the announcer shouted his proposed name, “And now! Let's welcome the man who challenged the great centipede!!! THE TRAVELLLER!!!". The crowd murmured his name and then cheered him. People then put their bet to the centipede guy and for Joshua, no one bets on him. This makes the centipede guy fun of him belittling and insulting him. But Joshua did not bother to give attention to what other said on him, he is more focus on the situation. Then the game starts after all the preparations had done.

The game was all about using bow and they should hit the object. They had given 2 chances if they had failed to hit. The centipede guy is the one who act first and hit the object with such a long distance. Joshua is actually really excellent in terms of using bow. Actually he is the champion of the global tournament wherein different schools from all over the world are competing. Joshua now has his turn and saw the object is even more far than the centipede guy. The one who put it really didn't want him to win. Joshua then shoot the object but failed consecutively. The crowd all laugh after that incident. Joshua was just testing the ability of the arrow and the movement of the wind.

Joshua then makes a serious position and calculated the distance in his mind together with the movement of the wind. As he releases the arrow the crowd was amazed because it is the first time they saw such a beautiful handling of the bow. The arrow hit the object just in the center of it then the crowd after that shouted for the amusement. The centipede guy was in rage and decided to use 3 arrows in one shot but his rage and unstable mind makes the arrows to not hit the object. Joshua's turn and he also uses 3 arrows and because of his ability his arrows are even more precise. Centipede guy called the one who put the objects and give a command to makes the object move in place. Joshua now are in trouble hitting because the object are moving. He then calculated the movement and rhythm of the object together with the movement of the wind. The crowd are quite due to the tension of the environment. After a while, the 3 arrows are released and as it moves a circling wind was forming to the head of the arrow. As it passes to the trees, falling leaves are also attaching to the whirling wind of the arrows and hit the moving object in the center of it. The quite crowd then shouted and cheered him up. As he walks to the crowd, centipede guy congratulate him.

The centipede guy ask him, "Young man, what is you name?". Then Joshua give his true name, “My name is Joshua". The centipede guy is a bit confused, "Joshua? What an unusual name. This is the first time I heard such a name like yours, by the way, I am Kilawin the leader of the tribe of centipede men. As for your reward, may I know what it is?". Joshua then said," Can I talk to you in private?". The centipede guy then agree and they decided to talk in a tavern near the place. After Joshua gave his story about how he was ended up on that place shocked Kilawin. "So, Joshua you are a human and you accidentally enter to this magical forest through the tree outside to our world, and you do not know how to get back?". Joshua then answer, "Yes, Mr. Kilawin". Kilawin decided to help Joshua to get back to his home. "A matter of that, I know a place where you can get out to this place, follow me."

The two then walks and Joshua saw again a tree similar to a tree he saw to the outside world. Kilawin explained that this tree is magical, the fireflies that he saw in the tree represent a magic surrounding on it. Kilawin explained that he is lucky that he teleported to their area in which it is bit more safe than the other areas of the magical forest because magical beasts are always hunting for their prey. Joshua then said goodbye to Kilawin and enter to the tree. His face was again struck by beam of light and after a while he saw that he is in his friend's house. He is confused because he thinks that the time he was inside the magical forest was haft a day but after he got home the time when he enter the forest from the time he got home is unchanged, it is still dark and in the middle of the night. He then choose to rest after all the things he had done.

Joshua's vacation ended with adventure. His friend did not know anything what things he experienced while he was on his province. It will remain secret and Joshua decided to make it a part of the past because no one will actually going to believe his story.
