I didn't know if I could go on. Every part of my body ached, sore from the hours of pursuit. My target, unfazed by any of the passing time. I checked my six; there was plenty of fish in this sea. I had to keep my aim on the target.

The seconds slithered by in mere increments. I was sweating profusely, cursing my choice of clothing. The target was no longer in the corner, and I scanned the room. Bodies with shimmer body glitter and sweat all squished into this one bar.

My accomplice grabbed my elbow and pulled me towards the door. Without hesitation, I followed; we both knew the objective. I felt a sense of urgency as I stepped into the fresh air. I followed my accomplice's gaze and saw the target slip around the corner.

I carefully trod that way, hoping not to spook the target. I gingerly looked around the corner to see the target taking a drag of a cigarette. I paused to check my surroundings and took a deep breath. As I approached the mark, I saw her smile. "What took you so long?" I knew I had stolen her heart at that moment.
