The Circle
Slaughtered “Agent Red, how’s your wound?” “Back to normal, sir,” I smiled at Agent White and showed him my shoulder, no trace of the wound I had a week ago when I arrived unconscious back to the facility. But now I looked more stressed, with slight bags underneath my eyes from the exhausting research I did over the target. He had gotten so dangerous, the Circle decided to add him to the list of targets. And it wasn’t your regular target that stole some jewels from the Circle, but the most notorious targets to have ever lived, and only twelve of them existed, now dead or in prison. Now, he would be number thirteen. “No trace of him, White?” I addressed White, my voice slightly strained.

Sculpted
Future (O) I came home to a cake. Unexpected? Most definitely. Was something up? Of course there was. Mæ always had something up her sleeve. I just finished tennis practice, sweaty and exhausted. My phone was ringing as I threw my tennis bag into the trunk of my Mini Cooper (ocean green and a beige interior, absolutely gorgeous). I picked up, juggling my water and my phone as I tried to open the door.

The Living Statues of Orthavos. Top Story - November 2024.
"The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished," A soft melodious voice spoke quietly, as the sound of footsteps and water dripping echoed around the darkness in which the group was walking. The sting of ocean salt had stung their eyes as they went deeper into the cavern that they had taken a small boat to, off the coastal cliffs to the kingdom of Arataur.

Queens of Sorrow & Shadow
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. The dawn sky tore asunder, revealing violet lightning piercing through a gathering dark. The light of dawn was snuffed out by spiraling clouds, and the land around the city of Allure quaked and shook with a violence that toppled brick towers and crumbled tavern walls. Parts of the city that used to be upriver now became victims of a hundred year flood in the wake of the waterway's sudden reversal, carrying away people, houses and livestock.

The Rose and the Bud
The river ran backwards on the day the queen vanished. Or maybe it ran forwards for the first time in my life. That feels more accurate at the moment. Everything currently feels a bit unreal. It has been only a few days since the queen’s disappearance, and for some reason, that one thing changed my life’s circumstances drastically.

The Circle
Part One Prologue My finger was hovering right above the button. Behind me, the soldiers were trying to open the door, their screaming and yelling echoing in the metal paneled hallway. I took a shaky breath and slipped my fingers on the butt of my gun. Then I slammed my palm on the softly illuminating red button and ran for my life. Glass shattered as I shot a bullet at it, the glass seemingly falling in slow motion in my mind. Gracefully avoiding the sharp blades, I somersaulted towards the window, my back just arching above the jagged ends of the window and leapt towards freedom. Whipping out my grappling hook, I shot it to the wall of the ship and landed perfectly on the second floor. My hidden earpiece crackled to life and Agent White’s voice shouted into my ear.

Bobobubble Tea
“Strawberry lychee orange with brown sugar boba for Christina!” “Jasmine milk tea with a shot of vanilla for Garrett!” I expertly punched in customer’s orders into the system as behind me, Jason Gu wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead while he mixed milk and green tea into the blender. “Your total is thirteen dollars and thirty-three cents. Cash or credit?”

Murphy The Swamp Monster. Top Story - November 2024.
“Run!” I screamed, as the ground shifted and erupted around us. Still half stuck in the muck, I watched as the rest of our group, led by the glowing button, fled deeper into the forest. I held no blame for them because there was nothing they could do to save me. Large chunks of dense mud and sticks fell all around my position, completely cutting me off.
