Short Story
Fate.
Dear Diary: Today, I fell. Hard. Unexpectedly. Never would I have thought that I'd ever think that today would've gone the way it had when I woke up this morning. From the breakfast reservation to the spa appointment I've had scheduled, I had everything all planned out. This wasn't supposed to happen. I swear, diary. Honest. This was not supposed to happen.

Hidden in Plain Sight
There I stood. At the edge of the dock. The loud thrashing of the waves moving around below my feet. The water moving at a rapid pace; flowing over and around the fallen body. His body. The tattered clothing of his swaying against the current as they barely held against his skin; as if to be holding on for dear life, afraid to become lost amidst the darkness of the ocean forever. My thoughts moving rapidly throughout my mind.

The Terrible Horror in the Beautiful Forest
In a world not too far from ours, there was a forest so beautiful it felt like a dream. The trees were tall and graceful, with leaves that shimmered in the sunlight. The air smelled sweet like jasmine flowers, and the birds sang the most cheerful songs. But this forest held a secret a terrible one.

Caged. Content Warning.
Late at night, I was being chased down a dark alley. The sharp smell of garbage filled the air, and I dodged between overflowing trash cans and piles of torn boxes. My heart pounded in my chest. The loud thudding echoed in my ears, as I darted from side to side, desperately trying to evade this looming threat. But I wasn’t fast enough. I felt their presence getting closer, a shadowy figure standing behind me. I turned, backing into the corner of a chain-linked fence and a thick brick wall.

Cul-de-sac
My house is at the end of the street, really a cul-de-sac, so when I used to play outside we were surrounded by all of those neighbours we knew for years, and the kids were all the ones who lived around there and knew each other. It was perfect for all of us and then it was not. It all got ruined and I better tell someone why it happened (why I am telling you, I do not know, but…)

The Moment
Bells. The alarm. With the opening of the eyes, the light is seen through the window of the adjacent wall. Illuminating what is already known. In the closet, the few clothes neatly on hangers while the rest are not so neatly bundled into piles of long procrastinated tasks. The Bedside table, two…no. Three glasses of water are half finished with the phone fighting against gravity, with only the slight support from the table’s side preventing its fall. Jane stares at her alarm. Half knows she would need to move, and half is fighting the rebellious side of just saying fuck it all and going back to bed. The deprivation is definitely a giant hurdle, but the feeling of the mundane. That is melancholy.

Under the Stardust Sky
Jack Atlas had never thought much about love. It wasn't a priority when he was focused on climbing the ranks of the Duel Monsters world, chasing victory after victory. His title as the "Master of Faster" was all that mattered—until Carley Carmine came into his life, and everything changed.
