Short Story
A Stranger in the Storm
It was in a downpour, and the wind was howling when I heard a knock on the door. "Who is it at this hour?" I laid my hat on the stool, my slippers, and drew back the curtain. Though it was nearly five o'clock in the afternoon, so dark was it all around with the rain which had been falling since yesterday. At my door were James Mudalali and another guy from the shop downstairs. I noticed the lights on the verandah.. I opened the door.. And there was a terrible cold at the same time.

Science Fiction: A Gateway to the Future and a Challenge to Reality . AI-Generated.
Introduction For as long as we can remember, science fiction has served as a bridge between the known and the unknown, the possible and the impossible. Through its speculative nature, this genre has allowed us to imagine worlds beyond our own, where technology, human nature, and the laws of the universe are explored in ways that challenge our understanding. It pushes the boundaries of creativity and often raises profound questions about the future of humanity. As we continue to innovate and discover new technologies, science fiction serves as both a warning and an inspiration, offering a lens through which we can critically examine where we are headed as a species.

The Door at the End of the Hallway
Everyone told me not to open it. That old door at the end of my grandmother’s hallway. The one with the rusty handle and peeling paint. Every time I stayed at her house as a kid, I’d find myself staring at it longer than I should.

The Silence That Said Everything
It was past midnight—12:30 AM, to be exact. The lights in my room had been turned off for a while, yet I remained wide awake, staring at the screen of my phone. Your last message still hovered there: “I’ll text you later.” You never did. It had all started so casually. You entered my life like a breeze before a storm—sudden, unexpected, and strangely comforting. We talked every day—about everything and nothing. Some conversations were light, filled with silly jokes, while others were deeper, late-night confessions wrapped in warmth. Your laughter felt like medicine, your words like a balm to my restless mind.

Tidal Grace: The Splash Mermaids
In the beginning, before time flowed and the skies bore names, there was only the Sea — vast, eternal, and dreaming. From her endless currents came the first breath of magic: Tidal Grace — a sacred force of harmony that pulsed through every coral reef, every crashing wave, every silent trench.

Echoes of Us
I sit on your side of the bed—only, it’s not your side anymore, is it? You’re gone, and nothing can change that. Soon, the hollow in your pillow will rise, the shape of you forgotten. The scent you left behind will fade, replaced by something that doesn’t know your name.
