My Journey to Self-Acceptance
As I sat in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but notice the familiar whisper of self-doubt creeping into my mind. "You're not good enough," it whispered. "You'll never be enough." I had heard this voice before, many times. It was a constant companion, one that I had grown accustomed to but never truly accepted.

The Real Book Thief
There are not many things more satisfying than sitting down to read a good book. With interesting characters, we love and loathe, conflicts and resolutions, twists and turns. From the start we are engrossed through the middle to the end. The end that brings everything to a nice, or not so nice conclusion.

The Journal
I had always taken pride in my high standards for whom I let into my life. Was I lonely? Yes. Often. I overthought almost everything in life. Which I believed was a secret weapon, a special power, but also a curse. That's why I started journaling. Joanne suggested it might help me understand myself better, or at least help me sleep at night. I am very much a person of order, or at least, perceived order. Things need to be in their relative place.

Quiet Sneezer. Top Story - September 2024.
This story was originally published on Medium. ************** She sneezed one of those sneezes that was so quiet and high-pitched, you almost couldn’t hear it. Probably a sneeze that would’ve alerted all dog ears within a one mile radius. It made her sound like a cartoon. Hell, it even made her look like a cartoon. She already had some slightly cartoonish features… brought more to light after her mouse-like sneeze. There wasn’t even a wind up. No “ah.” Just “choo.” All lowercase. Tiny “choo.”

246 — From The Beautiful People, Admissions Dept.
It was finally coming, the long-awaited response from my application to The Beautiful People. It's a high bar, but if accepted, becoming one of The Beautiful People is my ticket to media darling-ship (darlings-hip), clickbait, and the new raison d'être, influencing. Likes and reposts. I'd matter.

Sports Bra
I should have brought my sports bra. This one is not going to support me at all. Why didn't I put it in? Too much in a rush, that's why. I shouldn't have stayed up to finish that series. I knew I'd regret it one way or another. I've got nothing to watch tonight now either. And these yoga pants? I look like a bag of rubbish tied up. I thought they were meant to allow movement? Where's my water bottle? Oh, don't tell me I left it in the car? I'm such a bozo! And now I'll be late!

Tea Break
“I never take sugar with my tea, Mary…” She had been saying the same thing for ages, but the tea set came with the sugar bowl and creamer, and she was always going to make sure that her friends knew this. The table in the backyard had all of the necessities Andrea would use as a guest (napkins, multiple spoons and forks, saucers). She knew that her friends would be there with one making a specific request, and Mary had the tray ready for them, and nothing that Andrea could say would prevent her from her little routine.
