A Storm Or A Siren
The world was mirrored and had been for days. In the sky, a pearl loomed. Its beautiful surface was dimpled with the most gorgeous flaws in the world. So mesmerizing a sailor could stare for hours on end and when he chose to look down, he'd see it again in the deep dark sea. Chris rocked on his heel and watched the stars flicker in the oceans steady waves. He tried not to think too hard on the shadows he swore he saw dart beneath the waves. He tried even harder not to think of the way his stomach churned with the ocean...

Davy Jones: the True, Untold Story . Runner-up in Overboard Challenge.
It was one cerulean sea day that Sinbad the Sailor, Blackbeard, Grace O’Malley and Davy Jones found themselves all aboard the same ship. Yes, against all the odds of fame, fortune, time and legend, they were all on said ship together. She was a beaut though, with massive sails billowing and caving to the four winds, a deck of cypress wood that shone in the sun as if never scuffed by the likes of boots and barrels.

Overboard. Runner-up in Overboard Challenge.
Her hair smelled of the sea. A salty haze of an ocean ecosystem and an island breeze filled his nostrils, with every kiss he placed upon her neck. That was one of the things he loved most about her - she was totally at one with nature, unlike any woman he had ever been blessed to know. She seemed so present with him compared to the Europeans and fellow travelers he had crossed paths with in his time. There was a lack of "proper" civility in her that captivated him, knowing she didn't care for the shallow pleasantries of his modern world. He wasn't exactly the most civil of sailors himself, but she was wild, and unexplored. It reignited the adventurous spirit within that had already driven him so far across the globe. She was the compass that guided his joy. Like the primordial sea creatures in the darkest depths of the ocean's abyss, their love glowed in the moonlit night, secret and transcendent.
