The Tide Pilots' Voyage: Where Water Meets Sky
The morning was shrouded in a heavy mist, the kind that clung to the waves and blurred the horizon into a seamless canvas of gray. Captain Elias Reed stood at the helm of the Horizon Caller, his seasoned hands gripping the wheel as the tide whispered against the ship's hull. This was not an ordinary journey; it was the flight of the Tide Pilots—a select group of sailors tasked with navigating treacherous waters where the tides and winds ruled supreme. Today, their mission was to guide an untested vessel, the Waveborn Star, through the perilous Straits of Solara, a channel infamous for its unpredictable currents and volatile winds.

Worth More Than A Halfpence
Hajime perched on the castle parapet. Above him were two hawks; as soon as he took flight they would be upon him, and he would be a small lunch for one of them. He had to move, and quickly: He could hear guards coming up the stairs and they had been ordered to kill anything they found, especially sparrows. He chuckled to himself: I sort of asked for that one. Someone had seen him enter the treasure vault as a teenage boy and exit as a sparrow. Bloody Shapers Guild should have remained secret; now they were looking for us shifters everywhere. He had snatched the ruby; now he just had to escape.

What would happen if time stopped for a day?
Imagine this: suddenly, one fine morning, you open your eyes, and looking around you, everything is at a standstill. All is still; the air does not stir; the noise from the streets does not penetrate; the clock is silent. You rise up from your seat to look at the clock on the wall next to you; the clock shows the same time as when the electricity went off. The thought crosses your mind: what if somehow time is stopped? Imagine yourself waking up one fine morning and having no deadlines, commitments, jobs, or any kind of pressure to work under. It is a curious idea, and it seems that we can hardly come across a similar idea in reality, but nevertheless, it is rather an interesting idea that many people think about during centuries. Therefore, imagining the situation when the time actually stands still for a whole day? Where would you put the silence, and how would it feel? To begin with, it might be quite discomforting to come to the realization that time has ceased to exist. Several seconds pass in real life, but there is a total silence around as if the world has stopped its spinning. The tree leaves stand still, birds mid-air, the streetlights are on, but they don’t shift their colors anymore. Gods and mortals are locked in certain positions: speaking, moving, or even laughing, it seems. There is that kind of surreal realism that you get when everything is perfectly framed and nothing is moving. You could walk around the city being completely oblivious of cars or people and marvel at how beautiful ordinary places are. This could make the streets look somewhat empty because everyone else has left to go shopping, but the experience may be strangely still. You might go to such places as art galleries, museums, or historical sites that attract many tourists with close proximities. Alone, for the first time, you were fortunate enough to contemplate them without any haste or other interferences. What do you do when you have a whole day for yourself free from any commitments? Sometimes, with such heavy noise all around, one can get lost within the constant echoes of every day, but when time stands still, you would have the option of just existing. It includes getting a long sleep that lasts many hours without any interruptions through enjoying the luxury of a world that does not move forward, having been put on pause. Or maybe this would be a time that you contemplate your life and your decisions without getting some noise that has a habit of interrupting us most times. Something that the world today lacks most is the sense of freedom, and in a world where time is always fast running out, the ability to stop time would be the ultimate freedom. You would have no constraints and could do whatever you wanted, wherever you wanted, and however you wanted it. It can go on for a very long time, or it could be very short, depending on the type and the length of the analysis. Of course, there are certain non-technical issues or perhaps even ethical issues that can be noticed. What would you do in this time? Would you assist other people, or would you use it in other means by having the urge to be selfish? Would the world be different in the way that time begins again? These questions may help to make the stakes higher, and thus the experience all that much more interesting. Yet it would just be a matter of time, and as they always say, time waits for no man; time would start ticking once more. What would the feeling be like when life returned to normal again after the storm had passed? You may get this weird feeling that though still, the world could have been a respite from all the pressures of life. However, the fact remains that time waits for no man. It is really important to make the best out of the time that is available, despite the progressing hour’s yellow color. Of course the world does not freeze in reality. Nevertheless, there are definite moments of calm that can be sought out if one wishes to do so. It would indeed be an experience that one would like to live at least once, and if time were to freeze for a day, it would have been the perfect time. A world that is stopped in time will give countless free, conscious, and meaningful opportunities to travel and think. It would suddenly make us question how we live our lives and what is important to us. Finally, even where time stands still–which it does not–the only thing that is truly ours is the time that we possess. And perhaps that’s the most important lesson of all: The deepest way of understanding time management is that time is fixed while our choices regarding how we will spend our time are the variables that define the value.
