The Weaver of Time
In the heart of the Mistspire Mountains lay the Emerald Vale, a hidden valley where time moved like honey slow, golden, and thick. The vale was tended by Alden, an ancient tortoise whose moss-covered shell bore carvings of forgotten languages. Alden was the last of the Chronoweavers, beings who understood the rhythm of the seasons and the whispers of roots. His task was simple: nurture the Luminae, a rare flower that bloomed once every century, its petals said to hold the secret to mending broken souls. One autumn, a red squirrel named Taryn stumbled into the vale. Her tail twitched with restless energy, and her eyes darted like fireflies. She’d heard legends of the Luminae’s power how a single petal could heal any wound, even the ache of loss. “I need it now” she demanded, her paws trembling. Her brother had fallen ill with the Shivering Plague, and the healers in her village had given him mere days to live. Alden blinked slowly, his voice a rumble of shifting stones. “The Luminae blooms when it chooses, little one. To rush it is to break it.” But Taryn’s patience frayed like old rope. While Alden spent days tracing dew patterns on leaves or humming to the soil, she paced, concocting plans. One moonless night, she stole a vial of starlight essence from Alden’s shelves and sprinkled it over the Luminae’s bud. “Grow” she pleaded. The bud shuddered, its stem elongating unnaturally. For a moment, a sickly violet light pulsed within it then the petals crumpled to ash. The vale itself seemed to wilt. Trees groaned, their leaves browning at the edges, and the crystal-clear pools clouded. Alden surveyed the damage, his gaze heavy. “You’ve tangled the threads of time here,” he said. “The Luminae’s roots are tied to the vale’s heartbeat. Now both are poisoned.” Taryn’s defiance crumbled. “I just… I couldn’t wait.” Alden lumbered to the withered flower, placing a weathered claw on the soil. “Patience is not passive, child. It is trust trust that some threads must unravel slowly to weave something strong.” He began a low, resonant chant, and the ground hummed in reply. Days passed. Weeks passed. Taryn, humbled, stayed. She learned to read the language of sunlight on bark and to listen for the Luminae’s faint song beneath the earth. Seasons cycled. One spring dawn, a silver shoot pierced the soil. Taryn, now steadier in her movements, tended it alongside Alden. When the Luminae finally bloomed a century later its light was blinding, petals shimmering like captured galaxies. Taryn carried a single petal to her brother, whose recovery was swift. Yet the greater miracle was in the vale: the once-damaged grove now thrived with flowers that hadn’t been seen for millennia, their seeds awakened by the restored rhythm of time. Alden, his shell now dotted with new moss, said quietly, “The world bends for those who bend with it.” Taryn returned to the vale, not as a thief but as an apprentice. She grew old there, her once-restless paws now skilled in the art of waiting. And when travelers asked the secret of the Emerald Vale’s magic, the creatures there would smile and say, “Time is a loom; patience is the thread”

The Beginning
The quick footsteps of hundreds of soldiers echoed down the corridor. The rarely filled halls of the old military base had become a hive of activity. Shouts and gunfire rang out in chaotic bursts, followed by screams. Tull ran, his rifle clutched tightly in his hands, his breath ragged. Then—an explosion.

An American Biker in Another World. Content Warning.
An American Biker in Another World Book 1 Chapter 1 The Summoning The rumbling of Preacher's Bike cut through the stillness of the desert heat as he rode down the winding roads of Route 66, the historic highway stretching endlessly before him. The sun hung high, casting long shadows that danced on the asphalt like wraiths from the past. Preacher had longed for this trip, a journey back to the innocence of youth, reminiscent of the happy days he spent with his parents when they moved to Southern California. He was only five then, his small hands gripping the leather seat as they trundled down the sunbaked roads, laughter echoing amidst the hum of the tires.

The Observer!
I’ve been watching her for three months. Same drill, day after day: coffee at 7:15, newspaper spread out on her kitchen table, red pen circling job listings. She has been out of work since the layoffs. I know because I’ve examined the envelopes in her mailbox unemployment checks, past-due notices, a missive from her mother in Tallahassee who doesn’t understand why she won’t just return home.
