Two's-Day with a Dragon
“Boys the fire in the oven is dying, please go collect more wood from the forest”, Mikayla called to her older sons. “Yes, mother”, echoed from the den. The boys both put on their fur coats, for that morning was just the start of a very cold day. As they exited their home, they failed to notice another smaller being following them. Their youngest brother Micah had slipped out of the door behind them, toddling along as a two year old does. As the boys advanced through the light snow from the night before, Micah slowly followed their steps trying to jump from footprint to footprint in the snow.

The Tragedy of Quetzalcoatl
The heat of the fire was still present on Omopilli’s mind as he stumbled through the jungle. Somewhere behind him his village burned. He could still hear them. The screams of his family. His father had died with the hunters. When he and the men had done everything they could to fend off the attack. His mother had followed soon after. The arrow that had pierced her lung had been too much for her to recover from.

Paranon
Paranon, the distant world of dragons. Fury, fire, warfare, and rivalry were already all that was understood in this distinct realm. Grandiar of Dragon Valley, the Valley of Paranon, had sewn this place as a haven only understood by dragons. He had meant for a place where dragons would war over territory and rivalry without harming man. However, that was from a young age. He had aged and grown wisdom. The oldest and wisest of dragons wept over the wanton deaths and firey destruction of war. However, his remaining relief was that the dragons' sadistic sport and life was uninterrupted by the meddling touch of man.

Maternal Flame
The girl awakes as the sunlight beams through the tree branches. Rolling over, she nestles into her mother’s coat and closes her eyes, unwilling to brave the cold morning air. As she wraps herself deeper in the makeshift blanket, she feels the icy touch of a damp sanguine sleeve upon her face. She lifts her arms from within to reveal dried, gory skin and a distressing reality- she is alone. The forest echoes with an unnerving silence as the girl begins to cry. Before long, she had exhausted her energy and fell back to sleep.

Oliver, Son of Genvalt
"If there is a fire that never ceases to burn, it surely lies in the maw of a dragon." (Sarkhan Vol) Oliver woke up in a cold sweat. For many days he had been haunted by a dream where he crept around a dark castle. Each time he passed the maid's room, the door creaked open as a long golden shaft of light crawled out onto the black floor. His mother laid on the bed moaning and crying and begging him for help. As he approached, she turned around, and her face dripped off her like candle wax, revealing a cold, gray skull.

Wisdom of Warmth
To be alone is one thing, but alone with your mind in the dark forest is another. Outcast, they had called her. Worthless runt undeserving of companionship. The words of her tribe elders had echoed through her head as she walked, the small pricks of thorns and fallen branches inconsequential compared to the pain of her own thoughts.

Erah
Cool iron rustled a loose autumn braid. Two sandaled feet settled themselves into the scorching sand as Erah dropped into the pit. Her fists clenched around the hilts of two chipped short swords, their leather wraps rubbed smooth with use. Sweat dripped down her forehead and neck, soaking into the canvas tunic belted at her midsection. This was her prison.
