Phantalament
It all made sense now. The perfect ambushes. The timely attacks. It was him. He'd been playing me all along. Betrayal pierced me as I stared into cold blue eyes. Regret, disgust, and hurt warred inside me, battling for dominance.
Dragon Bones
May 20th, 2022 | 8 A.M | Leith, Edinburgh UK A bone-rattling boom from the ferry’s fog horn broke Ellie’s deep concentration. Peeling her dark green, blood-shot eyes away from the delicate papyrus pages resting in her sweating palms, she carefully closed the leather bound journal, wrapped it with a thick piece of brown cloth, then using both of her thumb prints, locked it inside of a stainless steel case.

"I'm not going to move on this." The senator was adamant. Her aide sighed, knowing how stubborn she could be about these things. He loved working for her as she was a woman of principle, strong and resolute. But he couldn't help but think of her as a tree in a storm - only the ones who bend survive: the ones with the thickest trunks that are unable to respond to the bullying shove of the wind will not live to fight another day. They become splintered and shafted and rot down to a stump.

Wish for something better step-tap-groan step wish for something better step-tap-groan step I'm an old man this late afternoon. The stick gives a hollow clunk, like the hammer of a xylophone striking the London streets.

Martha was smiling wide, her cheeks practically ripping at the seams. Her doctor was grinning right back. There was no cancer, and her body was back on track.

“I, Sybarita, Conqueror of Nations and Mastress of Worlds, hereby bind this man to me as my eternal consort,” she proclaimed in three voices at once – one shrill, one deep, and her own melodic tone – that echoed with power throughout the cavernous ballroom. The blue pendant at the end of a heavy golden chain that dangled from her upheld hands began glowing with a cold light.

The mouth of the cave was steep, damp and wide. Xila Kota had to be extremely careful with her steps, or the weight of her body would cause chunks of loose rock to crumble beneath her, threatening to yank her back down to the bottom of the mountain.
Xila's Climb
Blue fire danced across her black skin as she stared down the mighty mountain ranges of Bovax 6 with murderous intent. Blood-red irises carefully calculated the cliff-side route she had to take in order to safely accomplish her goal.

Eldergrove's Forbidden Spellbook
Surrounded by the wilderness of Eldergrove, a tale of curses and hexes was poised to unfurl. An ancient, leather-bound tome lay concealed amongst sacred roots, inscribed with runes of unfathomable intricacy. Within its pages harbored the sinister secrets of Malachi, a sorcerer gripped by the lust for power, weaving dark enchantments, each more treacherous than the last. The tomes of his nefarious spells remained locked away, and it was said to be guarded by a sentinel so fearsome that even the most fearless souls dared not breach the borders of Eldergrove.
